Functional Responsibilities:

The Partnership Coordinator works in close collaboration with the CEO, RBM Partner Committees and RBM Board Members, along with technical advisors and experts, multilateral and bilateral donors and civil society, ensuring the successful development and implementation of RBM activities within the framework of the 2021-2025 Strategic Plan.

The Partnership Coordinator will work closely with the Chief Advocacy and Communications Officer, Strategic Communications Manager, Chief Technical Officer and Data Initiative Manager to maximize synergies and the impact of overall efforts. The Partnership Coordinator will also work closely with the Operations Manager and the M&E Officer in support of work plan development and donor reporting processes.

The main responsibilities include:

Partnership development
  • Lead the implementation of successful and strategic partnerships with UN and external partner institutions, such as governments, private sector, academia, bi-lateral and multilateral donors, private sector and civil society;
  • Align partners around new and existing RBM-led strategic initiatives, ad-hoc working groups and task teams contributing to the realization of the 2021-2025 RBM Partnership Strategic Plan;
  • Identify and proactively engage potential partners in the RBM Partnership;
  • Serve as a focal point for existing partners engaging in cross-cutting RBM Partnership initiatives.
Strategic positioning
  • Provide policy and advisory services that respond to the CEO’s and RBM Board Chair needs;
  • Provide policy advice and technical guidance to and collaborate substantively with other Partners’ focal points to help achieve RBM’s strategic goals and implement supported programmes;
  • Conduct analysis and research of the political, social, and economic situation within malaria affected countries;
  • Preparation of high-quality documents summarizing the developments in the relevant areas of cooperation and potential actions that can be taken by the RBM Partnership to influence decision-making.
Review strategic policy documents, prepare briefings and provide advice and support
  • Develop and implement regular forums and events on issues related to malaria activities with media, NGOs, communities, etc.;
  • Collect inputs and prepare briefings, talking points and/or speeches for major advocacy events of the CEO and RBM Board Chair;
  • Provide technical input to the Secretarial with the drafting of the annual report, donor reports, proposals and other such publications.
Secretariat coordination
  • Coordinate across the RBM Partnership Secretariat to ensure smooth functioning on cross-cutting issues, including cross-Partner Committee meetings and working groups, Board Meeting preparations, work plan and proposal development;
  • Identify best practices and lessons learnt directly linked to country / regional policy goals and coordination on malaria;
  • Contribute to knowledge networks and communities of practice;
  • Share information with RBM Secretarial and partners on malaria and coordination issues;
  • Facilitate information-sharing, effective communication and collaboration across the RBM Partnership, as well as existing and prospective partners.
Other
  • To perform other related responsibilities as assigned, including backstopping for RBM Secretariat managers as required.
Impact of Results :

Successful results involve providing advice and practical support to the Secretariat Management Team, CEO and Board Leadership to maximize the effectiveness and impact of existing initiatives, support the development of new initiatives and/or partnerships, maximize the impact of attendance at global events and providing ongoing guidance, support and advice in the reviewing of documents, policies and practice across the malaria community.
