This position provides leadership and direction for process engineering resources and activities at a site level. Partners with manufacturing and quality in the identification, definition, and execution of projects and delivers technical requirements for the launch of products as well as continuous improvement of the product’s supply chain capabilities.

MAKE Asset Management (MAM) Organization

The MAM organization operates as one integrated team in the delivery of Engineering, Maintenance and Execution Systems activities. This occurs in a standard, coordinated and consistent manner in support of the current and future requirements of our Manufacturing & Technical Organization (MTO) and in conjunction with key partners, to create one integrated internal/external network.

Job Summary

At a time when the Large Molecule platform is growing at significant pace to supply an unprecedented number of exciting new biotherapeutic products and modalities (including vaccines, Cell & Gene Therapy, Oncology), we are expanding our team, looking for enthusiastic people to develop exciting, innovative, integrated, Industry 4.0 technology solutions to address our complex business & technical challenges. The LM platform currently comprises of Drug Substance API and Drug Product Fill/Finish manufacturing sites with both clinical & commercial capabilities in US: Malvern PA and Puerto Rico; in Europe: Leiden NL, Schaffhausen CH, Cork IRL; and in Asia: Incheon, South Korea. The network also includes the recently expanded Vaccine facility, which is an integral part of how Janssen are contributing to the worlds fight against Covid-19. The Responsibilities And The Impact YOU Will Have
  • Coordinate feasibility studies/cases
  • Perform front end loading of the key strategic platform projects
  • Ensure E2E vision and smooth transition of the projects from an idea to a ready for execution and approved project.
  • Support the project execution stage
  • Ensure that all early thinking’s are integrated in the Site Asset Master Plans and the platform LRFP (long range financial plan)
  • Provide Engineering support to the external manufacturing partners
  • Supporting exciting new product launches, new modalities, fast product/process transfers, reducing overall costs, and accelerate Innovation.
  • Develop, influence, support and implement LM strategy (i.e. network strategy, asset management strategy)
  • Benchmark other J&J and external companies & industries to identify best in class processes to drive continued growth and value.
  • Connect end to end and cultivate partnerships to closely align with:
  • MAM & CoE organizations across sites
  • Technical operations and technology teams
  • Engineering & Property Services (E&PS)
  • Product, sourcing and launch teams
  • External manufacturing network, through the support of PES (Partnership & External Supply)
  • Senior leaders

Required

Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related technical field
  • Minimum 14 years of relevant pharmaceutical/biological manufacturing (Drug Substance & Drug Product) experience
  • Highly developed expertise in one or more core areas: Project Management, Systems Engineering, Equipment Design, Procurement, Process Validation OR Tech Transfer.
  • Overall knowledge of all related engineering areas, to enable program leadership or technical leadership for critical programs.
  • Good understanding of GMP and Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability
  • Experience working in a global and multi-functional environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills for relationship development, conflict resolution, and team building instincts, with the ability to build partnerships and collaborate both internally and externally (for example, external manufacturers, consulting firms...) to meet program goals on global level.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.

Preferred
  • Analytical skills and finance acumen with ability to provide high-impact insights and recommendations in particular with respect to optimizing process engineering solutions for the delivery of large capital projects.
  • Ability to identify & handle risk and complexity of both technical & business issues.
  • Ability to show initiative in innovative ways to challenges in a fast-paced, changing global environment.
