Portfolio Manager - Process Performance

Reporting to the Digital Portfolio Lead and work within the Process Automation - Process Industries Division, you will be accountable for the long term profitable growth and marketing of the ABB digital Process Performance offering to targeted market segments

Your responsibilities

• Supporting digital strategy for process performance on market dynamics, disruption and emerging technologies and the impact on business model, products and services
• Driving the use of data and analytics, and articulate its impact on industrial process
• Driving digital talent and culture, be an advisor on digital transformation for APC and simulation both internally and externally
• Monetizing new business models and support investment requirements in digital business
• Strong financial and business discipline to roadmap prioritization and launch analysis of each product
• Driving portfolio financial accountability for results
• Supporting sales consulting engagements for strategic opportunities in APC and simulation
• Delivering product training and sales enablement programs to increase portfolio adoption
• Co-ordinating and collaborating with product groups and other divisions to align digital portfolio requirements

Your background

• 10+ years’ experience in the OT / software industry with focus on digitalization and the Internet of Things, and deep understanding of relevant technologies and trends
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical field
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration or technical field would be an advantage
• Proven track record in customer focus, exposure to customer top management, product management driving results and turning opportunities into sales successes
• Proven experience in driving digital development for complex global organizations, ideally in a B2B environment (Process, Energy, software, technology, automation)
• Understanding and implementation of agile product management and incorporating VOCs into the agile requirements process
• Deep Experience in the industrial software environment; Division-specific industry exposure (industrial automation/advanced software/…) preferred experience and background in either one or more of the Division industrial domains of Mining, Pulp & Paper, Metals, Food & Beverage
• Background in cloud and edge technologies, digital twins, analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning as applied to Process Performance solutions
• Strong knowledge of solutions covering advanced process control, optimization and simulation
• Hands-on experience with software applications in APC and simulation such as Aspen DMC, Honeywell Profit Suite, Aspen Hysis, Honeywell UniSim, KBC Petro-sim, Equation-based optimization.
• Experience in justification, design, implementation, and maintenance of process control applications in the process industry
• Understanding of pre-test, tuning, step testing, model identification, inferential deployment, interfacing and commissioning
• Expert level in PID tuning for regulatory controllers and Distributor Control System (DCS) integration
• Extensive exposure to various unit operations in refining, chemicals, mining, metals, etc. as well as sound knowledge of optimization techniques and the design of APC controllers
• Excellent networking skills matured in a highly international organization, “leading by influence”
• Change management experience is a strong plus
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Availability to travel internationally as required
