Over the past two decades, Bain has formalized industry and capability areas, internally known as “Practices”, integral to how Bain wins and delivers results to its clients. A practice can be considered a business unit of Bain & Company. The primary role of a Practice is to drive growth for Bain in a particular sector or capability, together with offices, and boosting Bain’s expertise and commercial excellence.



WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

The Practice Manager role is a strategic talent priority for Bain. Practice Managers are sought-after, emerging leaders with deep expertise who help drive Bain’s business to the next level. As a Practice Manager with a focus on Telecom and Media, you will be part of our Communications, Media & Entertainment (CME) group, one of Bain’s largest Practices globally. CME is comprised of highly interconnected sectors notably in telecom services, digital media, and adjacent to key industries such as software, network equipment or computing.



Our CME Practice is on a strong growth trajectory and amongst Bain’s most innovative Practices. Our clients and teams are at the center of digital disruptions that transform business models and organizations cross industries. We have built a cohesive affiliate group that seamlessly collaborates across markets and accounts. The high-performance Practice team in CME is instrumental in driving our ambitious growth agenda and pushing the boundaries of Bain’s Practice operating model.



WHAT YOU’LL DO



The Practice Manager is at the heart of our ambitious, multi-year growth agenda. Reporting to the Practice Vice President, the Practice Manager is at the core of enacting our strategy in EMEA across four key pillars:

  • Create results with our clients, building a strong network of Bain promoters
  • Develop a sharp portfolio of products, fully leveraging Bain strengths
  • Nurture an amazing team of highly committed Partners & Managers proud to be CME
  • Build a differentiated brand that reinforces our competitive differentiation externally



In this role, you will:

  • Support the practice leadership team in executing the EMEA CME strategy and commercial excellence
  • Engage clients in select areas of personal expertise and join critical sales plays and pitches, with potential of serving on client projects part-time
  • Co-lead the Practice-led staffing of Senior Managers and Associate Partners in EMEA CME
  • Further develop and commercialize EMEA-led programmatic products in CME together with product leaders, solution teams and account heads
  • Ensure Bain teams leverage the best of our industry and capability expertise
  • Drive the codification and deployment of fresh IP generated by case and client development teams
  • Head key Bain events, notably Practice summits, IP steering workshops, and regular leadership discussions

ABOUT YOU



  • You have at least 5 years of consulting experienceat a strategy consulting firm, with relevant work in thetelecom or media industries. Candidates with a background in corporate strategy roles at leading telecom or media companies are welcome to apply
  • You have a strong performance recordwith proof of upward trajectory, with expertise in digital transformations, with deep knowledge in 1-2 related domains
  • You are a proven self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
  • You must be skilled at driving change through an organization by indirectly influencing multiple stakeholders
  • Able to develop and drive pragmatic business insights supported by complex business research and analysis in fast-paced environment
  • You have experience with business and analytic tools
  • Proficient in developing and delivering audience-right, high quality presentations
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in management science, economics or another business-related field of studies. Applicants with a first-class degree in computer science or mathematics and an MBA are welcome to apply
