Principal Scientist Position (PhD level, 100%)

Food Brewer AG based in the Zürich Lake area is seeking for a scientist in the domain of nut cell culture.

At Food Brewer, plant cell cultures are applied as an alternative to conventional agriculture to generate food and food ingredients. The current focus lies on products such as cocoa and coffee, with a clear vision to expand to nuts and grains. Your role: We are looking for a bench-oriented scientist to join our plant cell culture team. You will be responsible for establishing plant cell cultures from various nut varieties, as well as metabolite, and flavor analysis. Within this role, you will report to the management of the company. We are looking for an independent, open-minded, creative and communicative team player to expand our motivated and dynamic team.

Your qualifications:

- PhD in biology with a focus on nuts

- Broad experience with nut plant cell culture

- Deep knowledge of plant cell biology and plant cell metabolism is a must

- Experience with microscopy techniques, cell culture and analytical techniques

- Work experience in the food industry is a plus

- Strong communication skills and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills

- Fluent in English (written and spoken), German is a plus

- Team player
