About the Role


We are looking for a Product Owner to join us in our finance transformation program in Finance IT and lead all aspects of the infrastructure platform squad. The project strives to integrate a SAP standard product for re-/insurance accounting using MS Azure’s PaaS services. The project follows a strict IaC approach. In this role, you will be responsible for further expansions of the existing PaaS landscape, but also maintain and continuously improve existing infrastructure code. You drive the road map and product vision and you set priorities for a team of 8 Cloud Engineers in close collaboration with the Tech Area Lead and business partners. We work in a scaled agile model with a shared leadership team and broad aligned autonomy for our squads. The role includes the following responsibilities:


  • Develop a product vision. Partner with internal customers to understand their requirements, find new ways of addressing these needs and integrate them into the product backlog.

  • Prioritize work items from the backlog, set the sprint goals and participate in agile events.

  • Engaging with our squads and center of excellences from the product area and jointly explore the opportunities provided by Microsoft Azure.

  • Implementation of a cloud-native infrastructure architecture of Azure Services using Terraform from networks to application runtimes.

  • Hands on coding of infrastructure as code (IaC) artefacts in Azure DevOps, with specific focus on Kubernetes and Helm.

  • Develop CI/CD pipelines for IaC deployments

  • Continuously work with the teams to improve and maintain the infrastructure platform

  • Ensure compliance with the company wide digital governance

  • Documentation of all of the above (readme, wiki and JIRA)

  • Presentation of newly introduced service offerings in various bodies

About You

  • A university degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or equivalent qualification.

  • Attitude to simplify, automate and drive innovative approaches.

  • Several years of practical experience with Microsoft Azure.

  • Strong experience of Azure Base Services like networking, Security, LogAnalytics, Alerting

  • Strong expertise of Azure Platform Services with focus for Microservices running in AKS

  • Strong expertise of IaC automation using Terraform

  • Strong automation experience in Azure DevOps

  • Test driven development understands semantics of unit tests and end to end integration tests and the imperative for CI/CD

  • Delegation and (self-)management skills for working in a flat, divers and distributed team

  • Good communication in English, written and spoken.

  • Real-world experience with agile methodologies.
