All About You

You will become a part of a multidisciplinary team of colleagues, who all work towards ensuring we produce lasers to a high quality specification and reliability for our customers. You will have experience in a production setting and ideally will enjoy hands on work and have experience of company ERP systems to help us to achieve our goals.

JOB OVERVIEW

Manufactures and aligns complex laser systems. Produces and assembles complex lasers systems. Responsible for the performance if each module and that manufacturing complies with specifications. Quality inspection and measurement of components for lasers

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for production and the testing and screening of modules. Responsible for alignment of complex laser systems fault finding and making improvements to maximise efficiencies. Detailed production recording. Supplies performance data and yields. Identifies issues and tests improvements. Provides input to the engineering through the life of the product including any changes or improvements to the product. Provides detailed production recording. Ensures quality inspection and measurement of sub-components used for our laser system. Gives feedback to product engineers to ensure that design is manufacturable. Responsible for some training of team colleagues in association with the job. Responsible for in house product servicing. Maintains and improved product documentation. Calibrates the performance of production equipment.

With the Quality department, Research and Development, Production line, Electronics, Sales and Fiber Optics teams.

LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS

Manages within own team. Managing team goals, objectives and KPIs. Managed own priorities and initiatives. Works within policy and monitors policy. Responsible for own competencies and addresses any gaps in capability.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Relevant degree qualification desirable, HNC equivalent at a minimum and relevant Quality qualification.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Organised, structured and methodical. Laser manufacturing. Hands on analytical and target orientated skills. Manufacturing techniques. Able to show other members of the team how to produce laser systems.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

At least four years of experience in the photonics industry. Experience of aligning and producing complex laser systems. Experience of quality inspection. Experience with engineering documentation; bill of materials, work instructions, and assembly process documentation for new products. Multidisciplinary engineering experience in mechanics and fiber optics. Experience interacting with a range of other engineers. Experience of Fibre drawing required Experience of QMS.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

Up 5 % annually.
