DPR Construction is seeking a Project EHS Superintendent who can support our projects in Switzerland.

In this role you will be responsible and accountable for the Environmental, Health & Safety Management function on a large project or multiple smaller projects. These will typically be commercial projects within our core markets of Advanced Technology and Life Sciences. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of working on large construction sites and who is locally based.

The Project EHS Superintendent will engage with all members of the Project Team and is responsible for a sustainable EHS culture to ensure employee Safety & Health and to protect the Environment.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and review the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and procedures/guidance. As the EHS Superintendent, you will be the point of contact on a major construction project for any and every health & safety matter.
  • At the very minimum local statutory compliance, but more importantly through continual engagement and continual championing of the Fundamentals of Safety the development of a true Injury Free Environment (IFE) culture as an integral part of how we do business.
  • All operations are carried out with due consideration for protection of the environment, the prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of our environmental performance.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a Senior Project EHS Superintendent role, preferably within DPR’s core markets
  • Recognized qualification in Environmental, Health and Safety Management and any additional local minimum local certification / qualification requirements required for the role
  • Full understanding of applicable local EHS Legislation, work methods, approaches to EHS and cultural norms
  • Experience in Life science or advanced technology is a strong advantage
  • Fluent in English and German (minimal B1 level) is required
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude
  • Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills
