Matterhorn Biosciences is a recently established biotechnology company in Basel (Switzerland) and Philadelphia (US) pioneering the development of first-in-class T cell therapy for cancer treatment. We are currently seeking a Project Managerto join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be organized, resourceful, and collaborative, and ideally based in Basel, Switzerland. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the R&D Project Manager will be responsible for managing research, preclinical development, and IND-enabling projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the matrixed R&D teams to convert strategic objectives into operational project plans and deliver on the scientific goals and corporate timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the coordination and management of 2-3 projects, collaborating with cross-functional R&D teams to ensure successful execution and timely delivery of project objectives.
  • Create comprehensive and detailed project plans, including budgets and timelines, and closely monitor progress to ensure successful completion of deliverables.
  • Proactively identify and address gaps and bottlenecks, in collaboration with R&D teams developing risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Facilitate program-related decision-making processes, fostering effective communication and collaboration between all stakeholders.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support CRO interaction and external studies, building strong working relationships and ensuring project success.
  • Effectively communicate project plans and progress to leadership teams through various means, including presentations, budgets, Gantt charts, and other project management tools.
  • Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring they meet project objectives and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Responsibilities include the leading of project meetings, preparation of meeting agendas and minutes, documentation of action items, and organization and management of project data.
  • Contribute to the development of process improvement frameworks, including SOPs, in partnership with subject matter experts and stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Strong scientific background with extensive experience in discovery-stage research and early development activities/ studies
  • B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Immunology, or other life sciences; advanced science degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience in Pharma or Biotech, and a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant R&D project management experience.
  • Highly skilled in leading cross-functional teams and working with CROs to achieve project success.
  • Demonstrates strong technical and analytical abilities, proficiency in project management practices, and decision-making using state-of-the-art tools.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills, as well as information management abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence others in a productive team environment.
  • Experience in IND-enabling studies and IND-filing is advantageous.
