Your mission

With your storytelling experience you develop exciting, easy to understand content and make the work of CSEM visible in an emotional, compelling, and modern way. The content your write can be leveraged on all channels. Together with the Marketing & Communications Leader (MCL) you maintain a strong relationship to the media in French-speaking Switzerland, so we can maximally boost our visibility.

Your responsibilities
  • Be the communication expert for the strategic area “Sustainable Energy”.
  • Identify stories in collaboration with the business units with the aim to create brand awareness, strengthen company reputation and support lead generation.
  • Vulgarize and emotionalize the stories.
  • Write accordingly valuable text which will be the backbone for all further communication.
  • Deliver text for all internal and external use (press release, website, social media, newsletters, reports, brochures, blogs, …).
  • Develop together with the MCL smart and efficient 360 communication campaigns.
  • Implement and manage the campaigns (including photo & video production where value added).
  • Prepare and execute press releases and media events.
  • Proactively drive media relations, secure regular media presence, and maintain a network of active contacts within the relevant French speaking press and media.
  • Act as point of contact for French speaking journalists for all the topics.
  • Feed the social media channels.
  • Analyze campaign results and adjusts actions and processes where needed.

Other Responsibilities
  • Assist MCL to develop and implement the long-term communication strategy.
  • Support MCL on strategic communication projects (external & internal).
  • Support the website manager with creating further content for the website (case studies, white papers, blog, …).
  • Propose topics and communication activities according to planned events.

Your profile

Know-how
  • University degree in communications, journalism, or corporate affairs with 2 to 5 years’ experience in a communications role preferably in technology environment.
  • Profound story-telling experience and excellent copy writing expertise.
  • High proficiency as a multitasker and project manager with track record in media relations.
  • Mother tongue French. Fluency in English or German.

  • Creative and proactive thinker, you are self-driven and strategic.
  • Solution-oriented mind-set, you are effective and efficient in execution and possess strong management skills.
  • Recognized for your excellent communication skills, you have a well-developed team spirit while being able to work under pressure.

Your mission

As an intern in the Sample Handling and Sensing group, you will support all activities in the Life Science Technologies area with a focus on microfluidics, sample handling, and lab automation for in-vitro diagnostics, Organ-on-a-Chip, and regenerative medicine applications. Examples of current and past projects include OrganTrans (organoids, robotics, and microfluidics), Moore4Medical (microfluidics and biosensing), and BioCDx (diagnostics and microfluidics). Within the strategic goals of the group, you will contribute to the development of disruptive technologies. The work will be primarily engineering, but in close collaboration with biologists, chemists, and physicists (may involve travel to other CSEM sites).

We are looking for an intern to support us in:
  • Implementation, testing, and biovalidation of prototype systems, specifically with regards to design, fabrication, testing, image acquisition, and sample handling.
  • Design, fabrication / prototyping, and assembly of prototype systems
  • Performing of validation experiments for prototype systems
  • Analysis of resultant data and preparation of presentations summarizing the results

Your profile

Know-how
  • Strong background in a life science-related field (e.g. engineering, physics, biology, chemistry)
  • Wet lab experience
  • Experience with fluidics and / or cell handling systems
  • Rapid prototyping (e.g. 3D printing, micromilling, hot embossing), CAD (e.g. SolidWorks)
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong English-speaking skills required, German and / or French-speaking skills a plus
