About You

You are an experienced PhD or master’s level mammalian Toxicologist who is excited about working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team environment as a member of a world-class chemical industry toxicology unit with long-standing history and scientific reputation.

You do have experience in the review of new and existing products and processes to develop recommendations on required and appropriate toxicology data collection and research. You will contribute prior experience with the conduct and validation of in vitro methods, and the interpretation of the results thereof within decision frameworks, and/or quantit ative AOPs.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a master’s degree in in toxicology or in a related discipline (i.e, biochemistry, pharmacology, cell biology, or public health, etc.)
  • This is an experienced position requiring at least 5 years of experience practicing regulatory mammalian toxicology/risk assessment within a product safety framework , and/or post-doctoral work on non-animal alternative methods
  • A broad knowledge base in toxicology, typically with a recognized expertise in a key discipline in toxicology, preferably in vitro methods in hazard characterization or IVIVE .
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
Your preferred qualifications include:
  • An advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in toxicology or in a related discipline (i.e, biochemistry, pharmacology, cell biology, or public health, etc.)
  • Certifications such as DABT or ERT are advantageous
Your skills, knowledge, and abilities include:
  • Understanding of global chemical regulatory requirements (i.e., EU REACH & CLP , USEPA TSCA, Canadian DSL, and recent China and Korea programs) for purposes of product testing and registration
  • Understanding of global food contact, cosmetic and medical application regulatory requirements
  • Ability to incorporate toxicity and exposure information in product risk assessments
  • Evaluate and review testing procedures to ensure compliance with the appropriate protocols, guidelines, and sound scientific practices
  • Understanding and translation of complex toxicological information into clear messages and recommendations for a wide range of scientific to non-scientific audiences
  • Build strong relationships with peers and cross-functionally with partners outside of team
  • Learn fast, grasp the "essence" and can change course quickly where indicated
  • You enjoy learning and are open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement
  • Effective interpersonal communications skills are a critical competency since this role requires the ability to interface with a variety of scientific subject matter experts as well as non-experts from various geographies

The preferred locat ion of this role is Seneffe, Belgium but other office locations in Europe will be considered.
