Your mission

You lead and manage the activities of a group of about 20 highly skilled individuals that promotes the transfer of new technologies to the industry, in close collaboration with academia. You are responsible of managing a healthy project portfolio and overseeing the definition of the technological roadmap. As a group leader, you report to the head of the “Integrated & Wireless Systems” business unit.

Your responsibilities

• Guide, manage and motivate a team of high-performing Engineers and Scientists
• Lead the business activities and manage the project pipeline and finances of the Group
• Coordinate the execution of many concurrent projects, ensuring quality and optimizing resource allocation
• Set a clear roadmap for the future
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other marketing activities
• Maintain a good understanding of the market and the evolution of relevant technologies
• Promote and guide the innovation process inside the Group (development of innovative IPs, filing of patents and dissemination through academic papers)
• Closely collaborate with other CSEM leaders, inside and outside of your business unit, as well as with academic and industrial partners in Switzerland and worldwide
  
  

Your profile

Know-how

• Master or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Microtechnology or Photonics/Physics with min. 5 years of experience in the management of multi-disciplinary projects
• Experience in several topics related to data processing, photonics, electronics, system design in application fields such as Machine Vision, IoT, Environmental, Medical, Farming
• Experience in leading high performance, diverse and multidisciplinary teams
• Fluency in English is essential and proficiency in French is strongly preferred, German is a plus

Your mission

Working closely with Space & aeronautics representatives of BUs , you will coordinate corporate marketing and business development activities in space and aeronautics , optimize and increase the participation of CSEM in related projects, increase our success rate, and act as main contact point for Swiss & Europeans Space & Aeronautics communities.

Your responsibilities

• Act as main CSEM representatives towards ESA, SSO, EARTO, EREA, and other Swiss Associations for space and Aeronautics
• Attend Space and Aeronautics events and expositions
• Identify new market potential especially in Space and Aeronautics for CSEM technologies
• Establish new industrial leads and regularly maintain the CRM database
• Support to build consortium, coordinate project proposals preparation if needed and check eligibility conditions for Space and Aeronautics activities
• Coordinate the Space correspondents’ group within CSEM
• Raise awareness of ESA-funded opportunities and support internal teams to access them
• Help increasing the global success rate of ESA proposals at CSEM
• Manage information flow on issued and intended ITT opportunities: promote access to information for Business Untits, watch and identify ESA-CSEM matches and inform space correspondents in case of potential interest for CSEM
• Manage ESA-Star portal and CSEM registration
• Actively participate to ESA’ Technology harmonization group and position CSEM’ strategic topics
• Coordinate aeronautics activities within CSEM
• Position CSEM in Horizon Europe actions through our partner’ networks (EARTO, EREA) in order to develop calls for proposals aligned with CSEM technologies
• Keep/build-up Strategic alliances with European peers
• Actively coordinate communication activities in Space and Aeronautics
  
  

Your profile

Know-how

• Master or PhD in engineering or technology field
• Knowledge of Space and/or Aeronautics related technologies
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Fluency in French and English; German is a plus
  
  

Interpersonal skills

• Experience in working with people of diverse culture, background, and languages
• At least 2 years’ experience in managing ESA projects or proposals submission
• Mastering of complex ESA projects process
• Knowledge of EU projects
• Mastering social media channels and digital communication tools
