Summary

Louis Dreyfus Company is a global player in the commodities sector. Its businesses include worldwide origination, transport, processing and merchandising of agricultural commodities.

Main Responsibilities

Along with the below listed responsibilities, the employee should conduct any other business related to the function as required by her or his supervisor.

The HR Business Partner is part of the local HR team looking after about 270 employees based in Switzerland, and reports to the HR Manager of Switzerland. The role’s purpose is to work very closely with the business, acting as the primary partner with business leaders and managers on the full range of HR life cycle processes and projects. This covers all range of HR topics like compensation & benefits, performance review, talent development, talent acquisition, Employee Relations…etc. The HR BP works closely with the Centers of Expertise, HR Operations and other regional and local HR teams.

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Act as main point of contact for all HR related matters for a specific portfolio of departments. There will be a nice mix of Business/Commercial departments (including Trading, Research, Trade Execution) and Support Functions (like for example Finance).
  • Advise the Managers and Leaders on all areas of HR (social legislation, employment laws, career management, recruitment, training, remunerations, etc.).
  • Develop a good understanding of the business needs, in order to support the internal clients adequately and bring them an added value HR service.
  • Collaborate with the other HR teams, CoEs, Global HR BPs…etc to deliver value-added service to the management and employees that reflects the business objectives and strategies of the organization.
  • Ensure the smooth running of HR key processes such as annual performance reviews, salary and bonus reviews or yearly budgets.
  • Support the management in resolving complex employee relations issues or conflicts within teams.
  • Advise the business in the definition of the strategy and actions related to the individual performance of employees when this is needed. This can include development plan, improvement plan, warning or termination.
  • Coordinate or lead ad hoc HR projects, both local and regional, and participate in applying any resulting change.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with our external lawyers and professional associations as required.

Experiences

  • 7-10 years of experience within Human Resources, with at least 3-5 year in a HR BP role.
  • Prior experience within an international environment.
  • Previous experience in a commodity trading business is a strong advantage.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Swiss Labor Law required.
  • Swiss HR Brevet is a strong plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French (French is a plus).
  • Strong business mindset, ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization, the various platforms and the culture.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies while advising his stakeholders on concrete cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Open to change and to continually learn and grow.
  • Team player, enthusiastic, self-sufficient, with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality.

Required Education

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Human Resources or related fields.
