Job Title Intern, Strategic Innovation & New Investors Hub

Purpose of Position Provide analytical research and operational support to the New Investors Hub team.

Job Description

The Resource Mobilisation and Private Sector Partnerships Department supports Gavi by ensuring sustainable donor financing and resource innovation. This includes (i) securing donor pledges and deepening relationships with existing donors while helping to elevate Gavi and immunisation on global agendas, (ii) diversifying Gavi’s financing base to include new and emerging donors and the private sector (iii) bringing to bear the innovation and resources of the private sector through new and expanded partnerships, innovative financing, and other initiatives; and (iv) leading key fundraising and reporting exercises.

KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
  • Effective support to the team and the Director in managing existing donor markets, private sector partnerships and overall support to the COVAX AMC.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
  • Support the team in the management of donors especially with a focus in the Asia Pacific region (Australia, China, Japan, Korea etc.);
  • Support the team in the management of the COVAX AMC;
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholder discussions and meetings, following through on relevant actions points;
  • Support and contribute to the design and development of private sector partnerships across a wide range of industry sectors;
  • Support the development and analysis of project documents including business case, implementation plans, and stakeholder mapping.

Work Experience
  • Demonstrable experience and/or interest in public-private partnerships in health/development;
  • Global understanding of key transformations impacting today’s business, industry and political environment; as well as good overview of development aid work and in particularly in global public health;
  • A solid understanding of one of the key donor governments’ (Australia, China, Japan and Korea) aid policies and programmes will be a plus;
  • Previous private sector experiences will be a plus.

Skills/Competencies
  • Excellent analytical and synthesising capabilities;
  • Excellent communication skills and an outstanding commend of written and spoken English;
  • Experience of managing multiple projects within a fast-moving environment;
  • Experience of working in a low-income country setting and working in a multi-cultural context;
  • Excellent team player and results driven.

Languages
  • Fluency in English;
  • French is desirable.

Academic Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in business or public administration, development economics, global health or finance;
  • Training in project management is desirable.
