Job summary:

South Pole works with a large number of prestigious corporate and public sector clients to support them in their sustainability journey. Some clients and partners require specific reporting and audits to be carried out and we are looking for someone to lead this process. As the Senior Project Accountant, you will be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders across South Pole and also external stakeholders to ensure reporting and audits are carried out in line with requirements of the projects.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Maintaining project reports
  • Maintaining all relevant income and expenditure for each project
  • Analysing project expenses and providing commentary
  • Overseeing project records and contracts to ensure terms are adhered to.
  • Business partnering with non-finance managers to develop processes and the understanding of financial requirements.
  • Responsible for the audit of the projects
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
  • Additional responsibilities as identified

Requirements:

Essential

  • Chartered Specialist in Accounting and Financial Management, Federal Diploma of Higher Education or undergoing training
  • At least 4 years’ relevant work experience
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Very good conceptual and process design skills
  • High-energy, flexible and responsive work style; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in German and English (First Level)

Desirable

  • Experience with IFRS
