To strengthen our Quality Control department team at our headquarter in Mendrisio (Switzerland), we are currently looking for a Quality Control Laboratory Technician.

Position Summary

The QC Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing microbiological and chemical/physical controls on raw materials, semi-finished products, in-process controls, and environmental monitoring.

Essential Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Perform microbiological and chemical-physical checks on raw materials, semi-finished products, finished products, utilities and contamination-controlled rooms.
  • Perform checks on incoming packaging/production materials.
  • Perform validation/revalidation of analytical methods
  • Verify the quality of data entered into QC documents such as Analytical Batch Records (BRA), trends and stability tables.
  • Monitor the stock and quality of consumables needed to carry out activities.
  • Verify the maintenance, cleanliness and efficiency of laboratory instruments and work rooms.
Required Skills And Core Competences
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in biology, chemistry or related disciplines
  • 3/5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical company microbiology laboratory, preferably in sterile injectable manufacturing
  • Knowledge of LAL testing and sterility testing
  • Willingness to work shifts and possibly Saturdays
  • Experience in performing chemical/physical/microbiological analysis of utilities (Water and preferably compressed gases)
  • Experience in microbiological and particulate sampling in classified environments
  • Previous experience in process validation, analytical methods and cleaning validation is a preferred requirement
  • Knowledge of microbial identification techniques is a preferred requirement
  • Open and innovative approach
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, French preferred
