In this position, you will establish and maintain a quality and continuous improvement (CI) culture for ABB Turbocharging in Switzerland, by assuring and controlling quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Reporting functionally to the global division Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager, you will be in charge of developing and maintaining the quality management system for ABB Turbocharging in Switzerland, managing all aspects in line with guidance from ABB Group & division. In addition, you will take the lead for global Quality & CI reporting and analytics processes and tools in the ABB Turbocharging Division.

Your responsibilities

  • Focusing on preventing issues rather than just control, and driving the utilization of process management to deliver consistent results
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the quality management system, maintaining ISO 9001 certification, and initiating required improvements
  • Making sure that the customer’s voice is represented in the business, and presenting the management team with customer experience feedback
  • Enabling and coaching all employees to evaluate risks, problems and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view
  • Developing and implementing a consistent approach for continuous improvement and providing training and facilitation support to individuals and teams
  • Ensuring global processes and tools for reporting and analytics of customer complaints, customer satisfaction, non-conformities and key performance indicators for quality and CI enabling evidence-based decision making and identifying improvement potentials.
  • Performing audits and ensuring the use of analytics to identify risks, failures and non-conformances, and ensuring that appropriate action is taken
  • Working with HR to ensure that the local quality team is staffed, developed and directed

Your background

  • At least 5 years of experience in quality management and/or continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma), working as quality and improvement manager with industrial products covering product development, supply chain, production, and service
  • Sound knowledge of relevant tools and methodologies in quality management and Lean Six Sigma, background in combustion engines, turbocharging or marine requirements are an asset.
  • A collaborative, fact-based, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • A university degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or quality management
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Lean Six Sigma green or black belt certified
