Optotune is a growing and internationally active optics company based in Dietikon, Switzerland. We develop, manufacture and market the latest generation of adaptive optical elements for industrial and consumer markets.

Working within our process engineering team, you develop exciting new products by integrating advanced technologies. In the team, you bring the next generation of innovative optical products from idea to production.

Tasks

  • Develop and optimize coating and thin film processes
  • Develop, define, and optimize assembly processes and equipment to introduce new products into high volume manufacturing
  • Design and carry out feasibility studies of prototypes targeted for mass production in close collaboration with Product Engineering and Operations
  • Responsible for process validation, and release of the developed processes and including root cause analysis and troubleshooting of errors
  • Continuously improving yield and throughput
  • Select, install, modify, and maintain process equipment including IQ, OQ, PQ
  • Traceability and integration of process into production management environment
  • Process documentation and training of co-workers on the new processes
  • Travel up to 10% to transfer the developed processes to multiple production sites
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary project teams
Requirements

  • MSc degree micro technology, chemistry, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent (Uni or FH)
  • Experience in process development, preferably in high volume manufacturing environment
  • Lean six sigma experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge in MEMS and semiconductor processing, surface activation technologies
  • Knowledgeable of optical metrology methods (Interferometer, Spectrometer, etc.)
  • Familiarity with FMEA, Gage R&R, DOE, SPC and other statistical modeling
  • Proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning
  • Open-minded for challenging ideas in dynamic environments with changing priorities
  • Quick thinker, creative, persistent, and empathic
  • Proficiency in English, German is an advantage
