Position Summary

The Nestlé Research and Development Orbe (NRDO) is a leading R&D organization that discovers, develops and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption, as well as Nutrition and Dairy new technologies and products. As “R&D Site Process Project Engineer Specialist”, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of new equipment and technology CAPEX projects implementations for coffee, nutrition, and dairy installations within the R&D center in Orbe. In this position, you will provide your process engineering and project management competences to develop, install new technologies and support the Pilot Plant production. You will act as a safety delegate to ensure that people’s health and safety, product safety and environment are never compromised.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Site Process Project Engineer Specialist
  • Provide process engineering expertise in projects and to support process optimization
  • Act as a SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for a specific area for which you will provide process and technical support for improvement and problem solving
  • Lead CAPEX projects to develop and install new technologies or modify existing installations from design phase to implementation and commissioning
  • Define clearly with stakeholders the scope and timeline of the project, follow up with steering committee and ensure appropriate project closure
  • Support internal stakeholders on budget estimation to build the CAPEX envelope, estimate the detailed budget and build the project charter for the next year
  • Ensure every step of the project is completed on time, budget, and scope by following the CAPEX Process Early Management methodology tools
  • Execute all projects with the philosophy “beyond zero accident” in compliance with local & Nestlé regulations, and follow up hygienic engineering design rules to ensure product safety
  • Act as safety delegate for people’s health and ensure safety is never compromised

What Will Make You Successful
  • Bachelor/Master degree preferably in chemical engineering, process engineering or similar
  • 5 years’ experience in a technical field, preferably food manufacturing or FMCG industry in Project Engineers or similar positions
  • Experience in CAPEX projects related to processes
  • Coffee technologies knowledge is a plus
  • Safety awareness and willingness to take ownership of the topic
  • Team player and close link with the shop floor
  • Good communication skills in French and English
