Job Purpose

To provide finance leadership to Ethicon EMEA by acting as a valued business partner for the Regional Franchise Group. Role also supports key regional initiatives as required & plays a pivotal role in the Regional Finance Team

Main Responsibilities
  • Providing high quality business partnering support to the Ethicon EMEA Regional Franchise Team across all business divisions and be able to interpret, communicate & review business performance with it. Actively partner with Franchise and Country teams to shape & execute key objectives & financial targets.
  • Active engagement with WW Finance to ensure EMEA voice is heard & results are understood. Ensure this process is done in an efficient & effective way living into the “Franchise Led, Regionally Enabled” Operating model.
  • Proactive engagement in EMEA BP & Update processes ensuring Regional viewpoints are part of the decision-making process & ensure clear understanding of Country & Cluster financial plans & key assumptions.
  • Provide strong financial leadership & analysis of new business opportunities & other key projects (e.g. NPI Launches, Acquisitions & Divestitures, Portfolio Rationalisation etc) that exist at across Ethicon EMEA. Partnering to drive execution of these within country & ensure ongoing monitoring
  • Monitor, analysis and interpretation of macroeconomic environment, framing the possible financial implication & partner with Business to develop mitigation plans.
  • Build strong interdependent partnerships with the Ethicon Regional Franchise Teams at all appropriate levels.
  • Meet all Compliance Requirements: SOX, J&J Records Retention rules, HCC/HCBI/IAPP etc
  • Actively drive and shape process improvement & sharing of ideas and best practice
  • Proactively take ownership for personal development
  • Active management & development of your team members.
  • Contribute to the improvement in employee engagement across the wider Regional & EMEA Finance Teams

Background information and Main Activities
  • The location of the role is flexible but preferably located in one of our Hubs (Switzerland – Zug, Belgium-Diegem or UK-Pinewood)
  • Travels required: <10%

Qualifications
  • University Degree & Recognised Professional Accountancy qualification if applicable (Country Dependant)
  • Minimum +5 years post-qualification experience and/or +10 Years Business Experience
  • Ability to bring clarity to difficult business issues and shown success in leading critical projects & processes
  • Excellent communication & business partnering skills including:
  • Strong influencing skills- across cultural differences and ensuring all management understand the Financial priorities and constraints, ability to align business partners on tough financial calls
  • Ability to work with people at all management levels is essential
  • A track record of driving constructive change & continuous improvement should be evident
  • Experience in leading multi-functional teams face to face and virtually
  • Ability to analyse the financial data ensuring that it makes business sense
  • Delivers presentations to senior management; facilitate group discussions to ensure understanding and achieve the best possible outcome; provide recommendations and solutions; encourage others to speak their mind;
  • Demonstrate comfort in times of ambiguity
  • Share important and useful information; stay focused on the issues; foster an environment that encourage the sharing of ideas and best practice (internal and external)
  • Outstanding teammate, Self-starter & Credo minded

Preferred
  • Experience at a similar level, or within a multinational environment. J&J knowledge will be a significant advantage
  • Knowledge of Medical Devices would be an advantage
