Syngenta Crop Protection is designing and building a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) capability for product information. This will create a “Single Point of Truth” for product data for the whole organisation including Production & Supply, Regulatory and Development. Therefore, we are looking for Regulatory Data Specialists (m/f/d)to bring the existing historical regulatory data to the required standards and alignment for future use by the PLM program. In this role, you will also support the future value-extraction of Crop Protection (CP) product chemistry data and ambition for digitization and digital transformation across Syngenta to achieve the required level of data consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.

Accountabilities
  • Understand and document chemistry data landscape, data capture and data flows (current and future ones) between regulatory systems in collaboration with Quality, Product & Supply and IT architects
  • Provide feedback for the continuous improvement of the platforms/ systems supporting the management of regulatory data
  • Retrieve, extract and review chemical and hazard information to determine similarities of chemicals
  • Ensure data quality and compliance policies are followed
  • Assess, acquire and profile other souces of data internally/ externally, historical and emerging to support the business and data strategy
  • Communicate and promote the data strategy and contribute to culture shift to value chemistry data as a strategic asset, compliance and competitive advantage
  • Liaise with partner functions to ensure efficient data flow for all stakeholders where regulatory chemistry processes intersect with other functions
  • Lead projects related to regulatory data management, quality, governance, compliance in close collaboration with IT/Digital Integration
  • Participate in CP R&D-wide data transformation efforts, such as the creation and management of data glossary, data catalogue, data lineage and data lake
  • Help to shape future organisation and processes to maximize the use of regulatory data to deliver more value for Syngenta and its’ customers
Qualifications

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Some working experience in a regulatory environment such as Product Chemistry, Product Registration or similar department including familiarity with REACH, CLP, Classification and Safety Data Sheets would be a plus
  • Technical knowledge and experience of chemical data/metadata management principles and platforms including data quality, data governance, data catalogue, master and reference data and their application
  • Conceptual understanding of database models and structures and ability to apply in practice, and experience with SAP would be an advantage
  • Experience of formulation chemistry and supply and procurement processes desirable
  • Proven ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships within teams and across functional and national interfaces
  • Ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational and functional boundaries
  • Openness and willingness to challenge the accepted ways of working and both develop and support implementation of new ones
  • Fluent in English, any additional language is a plus
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Clear evidence of concern for standards
