In a world of uncertainty and complexity, the Requirements Engineer holds the important role of being a mediator between the stakeholders of the engineering process, which include engineers, product managers, domain experts, project leaders and audiologists mainly located at Sonova’s Headquarter but also from international Sonova facilities.

In this position, you will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team developing new features and functions for health services, where you facilitate between team members, stakeholders and other development teams over the whole development process from idea phase until market release to ensure the solutions meet user needs. Your tasks
  • Contribute to the planning and development of new functionality and product features for the healthy living domain
  • Facilitate understanding and agreement between stakeholders from all involved areas, such as business, engineering, verification and quality
  • Write and maintain requirements and specifications of new product features in alignment with stakeholders and adhering to medical regulations and Sonova operating procedures
  • Collaborate with fellow Requirements Engineers to ensure consistency and compliance across domains and products
  • Make sure other teams can reuse developed requirements and specifications for their products
  • Contribute to the definition, improvement and documentation of our Requirements Engineering practices, processes and tools
  • Create and maintain traceability between user-, product requirement specifications, test cases and risks
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary agile development teams and participate in the team rituals

Your profile
  • Engineering degree, higher technical school or apprenticeship with diploma, and further education or training in Requirements Engineering (such as IREB) is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of engineering, preferably experienced in an industrial / production environment
  • Experience with developing health services is an advantage
  • Knowledge in design thinking or usability, user-centered design is a strong plus
  • Proficient with abstractions and conceptual modelling
  • Able to collaborate and communicate well across geographical, cultural and language borders
  • Assertive and able to influence without hierarchical authority and willing to take on responsibility and ownership and familiar with lean and agile work methodologies
  • Experienced with market driven software intense device engineering
  • Strong command in English, German is a plus
