Tasks

For our business Partner we are looking for long duration in the region of Basle.

As a hands-on research associate you will join the in-vivo Pharmacology team of the Immunology group.

You will be responsible for executing in vivo and ex vivo studies in the

pharmacological characterization and testing of small molecules and biologics

that modulate immune-mediated inflammatory diseases with a focus on lung

diseases/COPD using smoking cigarettes mouse models.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Help to refine and
independently execute a mouse model of cigarette smoke used for in vivo studies

related to lung diseases/COPD including efficacy and

pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) biomarker studies in rodents to address

project-specific, mechanistic questions
  • Work with the in vivo
team in animal handling, dosing, scoring, sample collection and processing for

other studies in animal models of inflammatory diseases
  • Help to implement novel
in vivo technologies
  • Strictly adhere to
national and international animal welfare regulations, support Roche`s

commitment to 3Rs (Replace, Reduce and Refine animal experimentation)

Requirements

Must Haves:
  • Finished apprenticeship
as Biology Laboratory Technician or Animal Care Taker or Bachelor degree in

Life Sciences (*****)
  • Minimum 2 years of solid
hands-on animal experience incl. substance application via diverse routes of

administration (*****)
  • Formal basic
qualifications (LTK1 or FELASA B or equivalent) to carry out experimental work

according to standard protocols and regulations (*****)
  • Proven track record of
adherence to animal welfare and compliance (***)
  • Experience with mouse
models of lung disorders/cigarette smoke is a plus, main work will be related

to the cigarette smoking mouse model is a plus (**)
  • Self-driven but
team-oriented working attitude is a must
  • Excellent data management
and record-keeping skills
  • Demonstrate clear and
professional communication in English, German is a plus
  • Technical Flair and EDV
experience (MS Office)
  • Willingness to work on
