You identify, direct and organise the transfer of knowledge from relevant academic research into Swisscom product teams. You seek and identify new and developing trends from academia and industry to promote innovative opportunities.

  • Shape and represent the research strategy for ML applications for telco topics (e.g. networks, customer experience)
  • Embody the transfer from theory to application alongside students (EPFL Innovation Park) and incorporate colleagues’ daily challenges
  • Interact with very diverse stakeholders (researchers, management, students and engineers)

Team You are joining a highly committed and diverse team and are involved with 15+ Master and PhD Students.

The project You establish and set in motion a research strategy in the areas of machine learning and its applications to networking, conversational technologies, cybersecurity and ethics and are at the forefront of the department’s innovation. You manage partnerships with research institutions, including EPFL, ETHZ, and other universities. You promote achievements internally and externally as well as initiate new collaborations with the most suitable partners. You contribute to developing great talent and impactful projects in a friendly and dynamic working culture.

Your profile

  • PhD (ETH/Uni) in data science, engineering, networking
  • Hands-on data science/ML experience
  • Ability to identify and communicate opportunities
  • Ability to explain complex topics to non-technical, C-level audiences
  • Relationship management, industry knowledge
  • High-agency mindset
  • Very good English
  • You enjoy public speaking and have excellent presentation skills
  • German and French a big plus
  • Impact Driven and Proactive
