JOB PURPOSE

Working closely with the Category Manager, the Retail Product Development Specialist is required to support the development, production and quality of our in-house, exclusive and partnership designed items for sale in our onboard MSC Cruises logo shop, in line with timeline expectations and the corporate development of the MSC Cruises brands.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Follow the MSC Cruises own brand product development phases and ensure that these follow given schedules in terms of ship launches and new project expectations;

•Serve as the main point of contact with external parties to ensure the smooth execution of the product and packaging design;

•Design and realize visual identities, themes, logos, graphic charts in sync with brand guidelines, for the bespoke products, using relevant technical software;

•Carry out technical preparatory works, define the material, measurements, colors, packaging and labelling content, plus any other features of the products, then monitor the process before final design approval by CM;

•Coordinate activities of multiple parties involved in the product and packaging design process (i.e. marketing team, vendors, agencies, designers, suppliers, printers, manufacturers);

•Monitor on-time delivery of artwork, ensuring that specification follows corporate templates and are checked to be correct to proceed with final production;

•Analyse project related issues, researche information and resource needs, suggest workable solutions;

•Maintain a proper activity status report to track the product delivery date vs. the agreed production deadline;

•Ensure the product quality certification process is administered correctly;

•Co-ordination of the production of product official photographs, social media content, presentation catalogue and related data base management;

•Working with marketing, create digital content to promote logo products, particularly focusing on new ships;

•Support Category Manager in ensuring that commercial and financial KPI’s of product range has been achieved.


QUALIFICATIONS

•Knowledge of operations and design management in Retail / FMCG environment. Ideally 1 - 2 years’ artwork and pre-press experience

•Computer literate. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint), Illustrator, photoshop

•Fluent English. Italian is an advantage

•Commercial accreditation or graphic diploma is andvantage

•Accurate and reliable

•Ability to deal with tight deadlines and work under pressure

•Able to learn and competently use internet-based retail management systems

•Problem solving & able to use personal initiative
