Purpose of the Role

Why does this role exist?

In line with the new global JTI Corporate Strategy, the Ploom Brand Group is responsible for the long term strategic development of Ploom as a relevant point of reference in the Reduced Risk Products (RRP) Heated Tobacco category. The team develops the global brand and eco-system strategy, the commercial deployment principles, knowledge & best practices, communication and activation tools, retail and flagship stores, digital content and activations, to build Ploom as a key global brand in the RRP HT arena. Together with the team, the RRP Packaging & Sustainability Manager will provide global leadership and management for the long term strategic development of the Ploom brand, with specific focus on creative design strategy and key packaging assets development.

What will you actually do?

The RRP Packaging & Sustainability Manager will be responsible to define the clear purpose and strong fundamentals for the Ploom brand, to guide its development and evolution in a solid and harmonized way.

As part of the Ploom Brand Team, he/she will be in charge and actively participating to multiple brand initiatives and projects in the area of Brand Strategy, Brand Growth Agenda, Portfolio Eco-system, New Product Launches, in-market Deployments, KPIs Framework and Reporting, RRP Knowledge Building & Sharing, Packaging Design Strategy and Development, Sustainability. This will be continuously performed through cross-functional collaboration with other departments such as Product Design, Project Management Office, R&D, Legal/IP communication skills and inclusive way of working is a must.

Her/his primary area of focus will be related to Packaging Design Strategy, Development, and in-market Deployment, with the key purpose to set-up a solid visual identity and a clear navigation system of all the elements belonging to the range of the Ploom products (eco-system), conveying the values and the relevant information expected by our adult target audience.

Her/his responsibilities will include agencies management, budget management, strategic presentation for sharing with markets and senior management, regular alignment with key stakeholders throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Design Strategy & Developmentdevelop a sound design strategy for the visual packaging identity of the Ploom eco-system (devices/sticks/accessories), including special formats and limited editions, ensuring high level of integration with the key brand strategic principles, as well as strong adaptability to local market regulations and needs. Lead the development of all the packaging assets, from creative briefing definition to development and implementation of final artworks, ensuring brand equity alignment with the latest positioning/ brand worlds, establishing solid fundamentals for pack structure innovation pipeline, keeping sustainability always in mind as relevant value and key priority for the brand.

Packaging Design Deployment ensure markets are empowered with the optimal product and packaging mix to develop a solid long-term leadership position in the Heated Tobacco Arena. Establish relevant conversations and share guidance with key stakeholders (including combustible RMC brand teams and local brand teams) to facilitate deployment of the ideal portfolio, soundly visible and clearly communicated to the relevant in-market adult target audiences.

This includes also (and does not limit to) support and coordination for research and product development related to in-market implementation of design & packaging assets.

New Product Launches Guardianship and RRP Knowledge Building in direct collaboration with the PMO and RRP teams, safeguard swift and smooth implementation for all RRP new launches, facilitating coordination amongst key functions, and ensuring relevant markets’ and consumer expectations are properly addressed.

Ensure Heated Tobacco/Ploom know-how and key information are fully available and shared with Regions, Markets and key stakeholders, to solidly sustain in-market new entries.

Brand Stewardship Act as brand guardian to ensure all projects are building toward the broader brand vision and ensure cohesive implementation of the strategy and key equities. Provide quality and timely input for A&SP, SPC, Regional clarification sessions for the Ploom brand. Point of contact for new markets and responsible for brand introduction presentations. Represent the brand team in key forums and update meetings to ensure markets/regions are aware of key initiatives.

Skills & Experience
  • University degree in Marketing or Business Administration. Specialization in Design Management is welcome (considered as a plus)
  • 4-6 years proven track record of accomplishments in Brand Management. International, cross-functional or RRP experience will be considered as a plus.
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills
  • Strategic, creative and innovative thinking.
  • Strong conceptual and analytic skills, while paying attention to details
  • Experience in agile mode of working
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong PowerPoint and Excel
  • Open to learn how to work in a corporate, complex and at time political environment, with variety of stakeholders with various seniority
