The department "Advanced Materials & Processes" at the Institute of Environmental and Process Engineering (UMTEC) deals with the development and characterisation of novel materials & processes and their integration in the energy and environmental sector. To work on our interdisciplinary research projects at the Campus Rapperswil, we are looking for the following person with immediate effect or by agreement

Scientific Researcher (m/f)
Focus on innovative processes for hydrogen, synfuels (PtX) and Carbon Capture Utilization

Your tasks:

  • Independent processing of current research projects including communication with project partners (EU projects) on the topic of hydrogen production, PtX and carbon capture
  • Development of new methods and their integration into processes
  • Project acquisition: CH and EU
  • Characterisation by means of common analytics
  • Project documentation (internal), social media and scientific publication (external)
  • Supervision of students in the context of bachelor and master theses

Your profile and qualifications:

  • University degree preferably with doctorate in materials science, natural sciences, chemistry, process engineering or a topic-relevant engineering science
  • Expertise in the fields of hydrogen, material & energy conversion (PtX) or the integration of CO2
  • Expertise in the fields of material & process analytics for synthetic energy carriers (synfuels)
  • Relevant acquisition experience is an advantage (CH, EU)
  • Bilingual: German and English
