About Commercial IT

Commercial IT is a global IT capability supporting the Commercial organisation. We business partner with Commercial areas: Biopharma, Oncology, International and Japan – and also Rare Disease Unit. We operate out of hubs sites including in the UK, Sweden, US and out of our Global Innovation Technology Centres in India and Mexico – and in markets all over the world. International Commercial consists of markets in AsiaPac, MEA, LATAM and Russia/Eurasia with a revenue of :USD 5bn. International is a very multifaceted, collaborative and fast-growing business.

Key Accountabilities

We are looking to appoint a Digital Innovation and IT lead accountable for partnering with the Region level R+I TA, based in Zug, International office. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to the business, embedding Digital and Innovation into AstraZeneca DNA and transform the organisation to improve impact, through the analysis of Data and KPIs across campaigns and initiatives. The role will drive the IT vision and strategy and business transformation for the R+I Region TA and ensure that team and individual performance to deliver the business strategy and objectives is met. The role partners with the leadership team to identify portfolio priorities and areas for digital and innovation.

At AstraZeneca, our IT organisation is pushing the boundaries of technology to enable the digitisation and transformation of the business. In Commercial IT, we are focussed on smoothing the Patient and HCP journey through Digital Innovation and supporting the growth of the business through impactful launches, field efficiency and digital/multi/omni-channel capabilities – all founded on deep partnerships with our business colleagues. Our internal capabilities are predominantly built and delivered by our global IT organisations and are cloud based and mobile enabled – this includes Infrastructure, where the candidate will be required to support international markets on their demands from these capabilities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience of leading teams with a proven track record of motivational and achievement-oriented leadership
• Demonstrable experience of developing relationships with senior internal customers and suppliers
• Deep experience of understanding (external) customer journeys and crafting new customer experiences.
• Proven track record of delivering Digital solutions with clear outcome metrics
• Ability to work well in and across diverse global Teams
• Strong networking and consulting skills
• Good communication and influencing skills
• Strong change management
• Proficiency in strategic planning, change enablement and innovation
• Solid experience planning, deploying and maintaining capabilities e.g. Data, Digital, multichannel, omnichannel.
• Identifying and delivering POCs of innovative technology solutions
• Experience of leadership in a complex/geographical context
• Validated skills of handling budgets
• Confirmed skills across data analytics and insights
• Ability to both understand data, but interpret & suggest outcomes and areas of improvement from the data
• Project management experience, to deliver various initiatives across digital, marketing, campaigns etc.
• Experienced to work across time zones with key collaborators and markets
• Ability to communicate effectively and drive relationships with new and existing partners
