Purpose

Direct to Consumer (DTC) business will represent the majority of adidas revenues by 2025 and it is a yearly double-digit growth which is expected for it in the next 5 years. Beyond sales, the impact we can create on every consumer thanks to Retail, eCom, Omni and Partner Programs is massive and unique.

Supports the Vice President Global SCM DTC in driving DTC Supply Chain transformation and strategy execution. This includes driving and measuring the progress of the transformation into a DTC focused SCM operating model.

Furthermore, the position manages forward looking Transformation agenda for organization-wide DTC SC workstreams, ensures transparent communication of the DTC SCM vision with the whole organization and fosters innovation. The position holder works closely with key stakeholders in the Global Operations (GOPS) & Supply Chain organization to give guidance for topics related to DTC Supply Chain innovation and transformation

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-develop the 5+ year strategic roadmap to meet consumer expectations in collaboration with SCM markets and Global Sales (Digital Brand Commerce and Retail and Digital Sales Solutions) by pro-actively driving SCM priorities into it
  • Works closely with the Vice President Global SCM DTC in facilitating the SCM transformation process and ensuring alignment within GSCM and with broader Global Operations (GOPS) strategies.
  • Collaborates across markets and business units to prioritize and coordinate DTC SCM transformation initiatives and ensures implementation in accordance with the overall strategic direction.
  • Remains up to date on industry and competitor trends, disruptive technologies, and other advances or environmental changes. Anticipates opportunities to transform DTC SCM capabilities, processes, and tools.
  • Develops and maintains a detailed knowledge of capability improvement approaches and techniques and selects appropriate approaches for the organization.
  • Monitors international, national, and sector trends in order to establish the needed capability.
  • Contributes effectively to identifying new areas of capability improvement. Proposes and initiates capability improvement activities within DTC Supply Chain typically driven by the need to enhance performance, satisfy new business opportunities or to respond to external drivers.
  • Carries out capability improvement assignments, such as maturity or performance assessments to identify strengths and weaknesses of DTC SC Processes and Organization
  • Selects and prioritizes improvement opportunities and generates buy-in from stakeholders in Markets and Global Functions
  • Together with VP Global SCM DTC driving organizational design transformation, developing the blueprint for DTC SC, and implementing it subsequently.
  • Collaborates with GSCM Transformation Group organizational design techniques, methodologies, and tools to change and improve organization structures and culture.
  • Conducts impact assessments to ensure DTC SC organizational structures are aligned to changes in processes, systems, technology, and tools.
  • Plans organizational design activities, identifies alternatives, assesses feasibility, and recommends solutions.
  • Outlines how the DTC SC organizational structure, people development, teams and roles need to change to enable the future business processes.
  • Aligns existing DTC SC organizational structures, roles, and jobs to new processes. Advises on implications of introducing new workplace models and tools.
  • Ensures that there is a business perspective on how any new capabilities will be integrated into the business.
  • Creates a business readiness plan, taking into consideration any business activities required to integrate new processes or jobs into the "business as usual" environment.
  • Determines the readiness levels of stakeholders with regards to upcoming changes as well as uncovers readiness gaps and creates and implements action plans to close the gaps prior to going live.
  • Monitors and reports progress on business readiness targets, business engagement activity, training design and key operational metrics.
  • Defines the series and sequence of activities to bring stakeholders to the required level of commitment.
  • Identifies the communication and relationship needs of stakeholder groups.
  • Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders in order to create and maintain stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
  • Develops organizational capabilities to drive innovation and implements processes, tools, and frameworks to foster innovation.
  • Drives communication and the open flow of creative ideas between interested parties and supports the setup of innovation networks and communities.

Requisite Education And Qualifications
  • College or university degree with focus on Business Administration or SCM or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience, MBA is a plus
  • 10-12+ years of relevant DTC work experience in global operations or retail supply chain environment, with proven transformation record and senior management exposure
  • International experience, ideally having worked abroad for multiple years and having gained functional/market experience
  • Participation in global project execution/significant contribution to functional projects
