Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.  

It is anticipated that, following the conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes. 

Rol & Responsibilities
  • The Senior Director of Global Transportation Operations will be responsible for developing and implementing supply chain strategies and controlling the efficient flow of goods, services, and information from potential sources to affiliates
  • As a member of the Consumer Health Value Chain (Deliver) organization, this role will be accountable for designing, implementing, and leading inter-regional freight processes and strategies to improve overall transport reliability and transparency globally
  • Make a direct contribution to the development of business and/or functional strategies and manage multiple teams of professionals in a global setting
  • Establish effective cross-regional transport processes, establish transport operational capabilities, and develop and implement cross-regional transportation’s continuous improvement program for quality and cost
  • Manage partnership relations with global transportation and warehousing 3PL service providers
  • Manage global spending for distribution and warehousing in conjunction with other regional leaders
  • As the operational product owner for the Global Transportation Control Tower, you will lead all project-related operational activities and participate in the design of the control tower operations
  • Drive and execute End to End cross-regional processes, initiated at the dock of the shipping Manufacturing/Distribution Centers to the dock of the receiving Distribution Centers
  • Drive achievement of specific SLAs
  • Partner with Global Logistics Procurement to execute Supplier Relationship Management
  • Drives continuous improvement to improve service and optimize costs
  • Interface with our Consumer Health stakeholders to translate segmented reliability targets into requirements for the transportation network
  • Ensure a robust foundation of compliance throughout all Transportation operations
  • Develop talent and ensure the team demonstrates functional excellence. Actively sponsor and mentor key talent and build leadership capabilities in the team
  • Key Interfaces:
  • Active customer relationship management with Global segment delivery leads
  • Assess operational maturity and define and execute continuous improvement priorities
  • Logistics Category Procurement Management: Jointly optimize 3PL and logistics spend through category strategy

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years of overall business experience is required, preferably with an emphasis on Deliver Operations, Strategy, and management of large programs
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree MBA or Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Expertise across core global transportation or distribution and carrier/3PL management processes, contracts, and relationships is required
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the end-to-end supply chain process is required
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate within and across organizations globally, and at all organizational levels
  • Big picture oriented with the ability to represent a broader supply chain mentality
  • An advanced level of expertise in utilizing PowerPoint to successfully execute presentations to leadership
  • Solid experience working in a highly matrixed, global organization, preferably within multi-sector
