Purpose

The Senior Director SCM & POPS Finance acts as a financial advisor and business partner to Supply Chain and Product Operations teams.

The general purpose of this role is to be a financial consultant leading the Global function of SCM and POPS Finance and work closely with the business partners in SCM and POPS organization to drive improvement and enable fact-based decisions.

This role supports and steers the business to achieve financial and non-financial targets as well as the defined long-term strategy. This is supported by the creation of transparency about business performance, developing scenario planning, providing insights and making recommendations.

In addition, this function also has a Global governance role to ensure quality and consistency across the SCM Market Finance teams.

Cost controlling Supply Chain Management and Product Operations
  • Develop a sustainable management reporting system to support business in monitoring operational performance on a regular basis. Analyze facts (past performance) and translate to recommendation / solution (prediction) which will help SCM and POPS management to make sound business decisions.
  • Understand key cost drivers and provide E2E Supply Chain visibility for business partners (inbound to outbound) to drive improvements / actions.
  • Work closely with the market teams to ensure transparency, consistency and high quality results. Drive harmonization and standardization of data sets while driving best in class delivery in terms of timelines and data quality.
  • Establish and drive benchmarking process internally (between markets and functions) and externally with key competitors in the same industry regarding Supply Chain costs.
  • Drive Budgeting, Forecasting and Strategic Business Planning processes including consolidation piece to show overall picture for SCM and POPS.
  • Responsibility for SCM Controlling within several markets (coverage of fixed and variable logistic costs as well as control and support of market controllers in corresponding markets).
  • Provide advice to the market teams as necessary for the creation of local operational & management reports. The goal is to keep a harmonized approach across Global and all markets, and centralize reporting tasks as appropriate.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis as needed for management purpose.
  • Safeguard Global financial governance and manage standardized execution of financial processes (e.g. budgeting and forecasting) for SCM. Identify opportunities to develop better methods or processes.
  • Build best in class system capabilities to support efficient and effective reporting.
  • Provide financial support and day to day controlling work for Global Logistics & Distribution, Global Customs, Global Product Supply, SCM Transformation, Supply Chain Control Tower, SCM Direct to Consumer, SCM Head Office, Strategy and Programs, Production operation and Scheinfeld operation.
  • Drive efficiency measures by acting as the primary point of contact between SCM Finance and Group Procurement.
Manage and coordinate SCM Cost of Sales Variances controlling
  • Own, manage and control budgeting, forecasting and reporting of actual cost and explain deviations. Full coverage and ownership of Inbound Freight, Custom duties and other variances elements like inventory write off and detention and demurrage.
  • Analyse Cost of Sales Variances and review implications in order to increase financial planning accuracy.
  • Liaise with various Global Operations (GOPS) functions as to implement procedure in order to reduce result in the COS variance line of the P&L.
  • Create transparency to allow for better decision making and ultimately lower cost.
  • Support efficiency company projects to simplify standard costing logic and processes, including working with the S4 Hana/Trans4m team.
  • Support the design of financial set-up for markets under TradeCo & TradeCo Lite.
  • Ensure processes and structures are in line with legal, customs and tax requirements. Advice local finance teams accordingly.

Qualifications
  • University Degree in Finance / Business Administration / Accounting
  • Minimum 10 years work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team
