Corporate Controlling assumes group-wide responsibility for all controlling and financial reporting matters within Georg Fischer. Key elements of Corporate Controlling’s function are:
  • The preparation of the external reporting to the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX),
  • the preparation of essential analyses to support the decision-making process of GF’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors,
  • the support of the group-wide forecasting and budgeting process, as well as the definition of the group accounting policies according to Swiss GAAP FER.
The Corporate Controlling team is at the pulse of a global organisation consisting of more than 140 group entities and has seven team members whereas ensuring a smooth and efficient consolidation and reporting process, supported by consolidation software and databases, is very important. The Corporate Controlling team assumes full responsibility of the timely and accurate reporting of financial data to internal and external stakeholders.A sound understanding of GF as a diversified industrial and exchange-listed corporation as well as relationship building with the decentralised controlling organisations of GF’s three divisions - GF Piping Systems, GF Casting Solutions and GF Machining Solutions - are also fundamental.Your tasks
  • Assuming responsibility for the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end consolidated financial statements of GF
  • Preparing, together with the team, material parts of the mid- and full-year external reporting according to Swiss GAAP FER
  • Preparing and issue accounting guidance for specific accounting topics and act as a key function for the entire GF group with regard to accounting and reporting matters
  • Being an important link between the headquarter company and foreign subsidiaries and support local accounting departments in optimization projects
  • Maintaining and improve the consolidation software and the underlying databases
  • Analysing various sets of financial data and prepare meaningful analysis to the Senior Management, the Board of Directors as well as other stakeholders of GF
  • Being a driver in group-wide finance improvement projects
Your profile
  • Bachelor or master degree in Finance or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and Controlling; CPA, Chartered Expert in Financial and Managerial Accounting and Reporting or similar education preferred but not required
  • Practical experience with consolidation or sound understanding of the consolidation process gained through an audit function
  • Strong interest in financial accounting, consolidation and financial data management
  • Sound understanding of consolidation systems and MS Office Suite; experience with financial data base management considered a plus
  • Great team player and highly motivated/committed to personal development
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same as well as ability to plan and efficiently execute projects on your own
  • Good understanding of international and/or Swiss accounting standards
  • Fluency in English; fluency in German considered a plus
