For a project at our client’s site, an international bank based in Ticino, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT Requirements Engineer - SQL / Data Modeling.

In this exciting role, you will reinforce the Requirement Engineering Team, which is a strategic data management ecosystem harmonizing Credit Risk data from different booking systems across various locations.

Tasks
  • Responsible for eliciting, analyzing, modeling, and validating business requirements, conditions, and priorities within application development projects in the Credit Risk PB Domain
  • Active interaction with the requestors to understand the requirements and expectations and transform them into an adequate, applicable, sustainable, and efficient requirement specification for existing or new IT applications
  • Production and sign-off of standard requirements engineering deliverables (Use Case Model, Use Cases, Domain Object Model, Business Rule Specifications, Screen Specifications, Non-Functional Requirements Specifications, Project Requirements List) on time and with high quality and expected clarity
  • Understanding of the Credit Risk business landscape and ability to model new data attributes into an existing, complex data model
  • Supporting developers and testers by resolving business issues that come up during the technical implementation and testing phase
  • Providing subject matter expertise to support the development and validation of quality assurance, application architecture, testing, and other project deliverables
  • Providing 3rd level support by investigating the root cause of raised production issues and by figuring out what, where, and how to fix the root cause of the reported issues
  • Effort estimations and task planning for Requirements Engineering related project tasks
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in requirements engineering within application development projects, ideally in the banking industry
  • Experience working in the Credit Risk Domain plus with Market Data in international and large-scale projects
  • Familiar with working in delivery projects using agile methodologies and tools (Scrum, JIRA, etc.)
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills
  • Understanding of the development technologies plus the development and deployment processes as well as architecture diagrams
  • Knowledge of program languages such as Java and Oracle DB
  • Interest and ability to go beyond the specific role duties and learn and apply other technologies as needed
  • Able to handle stakeholders with different backgrounds (Business Project Managers, User Representatives, Programmers, Offshore resources, Testers etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with people face-to-face and over the phone across different cultures and time zones (off-shore)
  • Strong negotiation skills, both with internal as well as external clients
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Fluent in English, German or Italian are a plus
