Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:

Execution of BMS Market Access strategy

  • The function Brand Access (BA) is accountable to ensure access, design and execute access solution to our medicines within or outside provision of national health insurance law such as implementation or facilitation of reimbursement decisions (indication specific pricing, pay for performance etc) as well as Art. 71 a-d (Ordinance on the health insurance act) and cell and gene therapy reimbursement, respectively.
  • In this role the BAM develops tailored value story and access strategies for local access for responsible brands in close collaboration with Health Economics and Outcomes Research Department as well as ensures an aligned messaging across BMS Switzerland.
  • Engagement of national policy and access stakeholders to develop and expansion of target stakeholder network.
  • As such the Brand Access Manager’s (BAM) tasks are primarily project-driven by working with BMS cross-functional team on local and global level as well as local decision makers and content experts in key governing accounts such as chief of clinic, health insurers, counselling physician to payers, hospital management, and budget holders in hospitals, health insurances or other associations (medical & payers).
  • As a member of the cross-functional Market Access and brand team the BAM supports brand expertise from local access and value perspective.
  • The Brand Access Manager is a highly specialized national field-based position (60%) with a mix of customer and non-customer facing activities (40% office).

Ensure execution of in-market reimbursements decisions and reimbursement of products outside provision of reimbursement list (list of specialities) such as cell & gene therapies and other ATMPs (advanced therapeutic medicinal products)

  • The BAM supports the organization to meet its short and long-term goals by creating sustainable access solutions, delivering breakthrough analysis and insights to the commercial organization.
  • The BAM ensures CAR T therapies are reimbursed within current reimbursement setting (tariff system) and supports Government Affairs and Policy in their efforts to evolve reimbursement system for Advanced Therapeutic Medicinal Products such as cell and gene therapies.
  • In this role the BAM develops tailored value story and access strategies for local access for responsible brands in close collaboration with Health Economics and Outcomes Research Department as well as ensures an aligned messaging across BMS Switzerland.

Key competencies:

  • Successfully completed studies in medical natural sciences, pharma-economic, or other relevant qualification.
  • Very good knowledge of Swiss health care and hospital system and proven track record in account management.
  • Knowledgeable in market access and health economics (understanding and application of models), building value stories, creating local access solutions, negotiation and contracting capabilities, stakeholder mapping and relationship management.
  • Highly customer-oriented, communicative and effective relationship building skills paired with excellent analytical and strategic capabilities.
  • Experienced in stakeholder mapping and action planning. Feels comfortable working autonomously with good project management skills.
  • Excellent language skills in German, French and English.
  • Relevant experienced in the customer facing role

Degree:

  • University degree in sciences or health economics or other relevant qualification

Experience:

  • Swiss health system or health care policy knowledge or experience with relevance for P&R with proven success record

  • Excellent health economic knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of the Swiss P&R process and the legal-frame work

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent knowledge of the Swiss Health-Care System
