Bristol Myers Squibb has been in operation in Ireland since 1964, employing over 650 people across a range of activities and business units.

Ireland is home to External manufacturing’s global headquarters, the business unit responsible for the management of manufacturing contract operations (CMO’s) and ensuring reliable supply of product to patients across the Bristol Myers Squibb global network.

This includes management of, and working in conjunction with, third party contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites. In Ireland, External Manufacturing has two sites; Global Headquarters based in Dublin 15 and a distribution centre in Shannon, Co Clare.

The Role

BMS External Manufacturing is looking to recruit a permanentSenior Manager, Inventory Management, External Manufacturing. The successful candidate will Lead Supply Chain Inventory Control activities within the External Manufacturing organization. This person will be responsible for leading the Inventory Control team to ensure a high level of service, management, oversight and reporting for all External Manufacturing owned inventory at internal and external locations globally.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the monitoring of all types of inventory owned by ExM

  • Responsible for ensuring financial provisions are in place and accurately maintained

  • Responsible for the management of excess and obsolete inventory

  • Support a cost recovery program for excess inventory

  • Proactively identifies inventory issues and implements solutions after consultation with the relevant business leaders

  • Trouble shoot cost risks to the business and develop process and control points to mitigate under GMP guidelines and practice

  • Meet inventory reporting requirements at local, regional, and global levels. This includes daily monthly and projected inventory levels v’s actual and budgeted inventory levels across all inventory types

  • Participates in inventory audits and cycle counts as required. Performs investigations and gap analysis as necessary

  • Conducts thorough and careful analysis of data, gathers critical information

  • Establishes strong working relationships with key stakeholders

  • Has oversight responsibility to ensure ExM inventory data is maintained accurately and in a timely manner

  • Promote a high-performance team culture

  • Hold regular meetings with key stakeholders to optimize communication channels and information flow

  • Support the implementation of EHS policies

  • Set objectives and guidelines for all personnel, provide feedback on performance through the performance connections process

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sciences, Engineering, Supply chain or Finance. Master’s degree and APICS certification desirable

  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain or Finance

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic supply chain and supply relationship management

  • Strong background in inventory management in complex, multi-site organizations

  • Experience in working within a global and culturally diverse matrix organization

  • Demonstrated ability in performing in a dynamic, fast paced, changing and demanding environment

  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to organise and present information to cross-functional audiences and senior leaders

  • Demonstrated ability to frame and build concepts and ideas and develop and execute strategic plans as required

  • Good understanding of business specific organization, functions, and business support systems (manufacturing, packaging, artwork, regulatory, marketing, quality control/quality assurance and supply chain)

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical product lifecycle and obsolescence

  • SAP and SAP Business Warehouse system knowledge

  • Knowledge of cost and/or inventory accounting principles

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations within the overall business organization and structure
    The core competencies of Leadership; Innovation, Communication skills, Teamwork, Problem Solving and a Commitment to Quality and Compliance

  • Sound Knowledge of supply chain concepts and practices in Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Food or FMCG industries

  • Knowledge of technology, ERP, materials planning and financial controls

  • Excellent Analytical and PC application knowledge

  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.

  • Ability to prioritise, organise and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and organizations

  • Capable to interact with key decision makers in manufacturing technology, quality, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, finance, legal, EHS
