Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.     

It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Job Description
  • Assists the DPO for EMEA with his/her oversight responsibility of Privacy Compliance for Consumer Healthcare with a particular focus on Germany, plus other countries within EEA/Switzerland/UK:
  • Ensures data about Privacy Compliance program is collected and analyzed consistently.
  • Provides data and input to the Privacy Leadership Team to ensure that the Privacy risks are addressed in the overall Privacy Compliance strategy and allocation of resources by the Global Privacy Team.
  • Collaborates with business process owners in the region to understand the Privacy risks of new business processes and provides guidance to ensure Privacy controls are embedded into the design of these processes.
  • Assists the DPO with the fulfilment of legal obligations under the relevant laws in Germany + EEA/UK/Switzerland, in particular:
  • To maintain the organization’s internal records of processing activities.
  • To provide advice as regards Data Protection Impact Assessments and monitor their performance.
  • Partners with local company leadership in the assigned cluster of countries, to ensure Companies deploy a Privacy Compliance program that effectively prevents and detects violations of law, regulations, policies and that includes the following components:
  • Assignment of functional leaders who are accountable for privacy compliance (e.g. incident response team/process and audit readiness process for each operating company within the country cluster)
  • Understanding of risks related to business processes that involve personal information and provision of guidance to mitigate these risks
  • Education, training, and regular communications on Privacy Compliance to all relevant employees
  • Any required reporting obligations to data protection authorities
  • Presentations to management, covering the status of the Privacy Compliance program
  • Self and risk assessments, to detect process gaps and inconsistencies
  • Preparation for internal and external Privacy compliance audits and implementation of corrective action solutions
  • Privacy incident response processing
  • Interfaces with legal counsel regarding Privacy Compliance requirements, interpretation and Privacy Incident Response process
  • Interfaces with the global/regional Privacy Compliance community to share approaches to Privacy Compliance and serve on teams to harmonize and standardize company approaches to privacy.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Excellent English fluency required, both written and orally; fluency in other languages spoken in the region preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in privacy
  • Experience with, or a strong interest in, consumer healthcare
  • Knowledge of technical jargon and ability to translate it for colleagues that are not technical experts
  • Strong business acumen, and experience with complex contract negotiations
  • Prior experience working in a cross-functional, cross-country, and virtual environment preferred
  • Ability to positively influencing decisions and collaborate with business partners, using discernment and partnership/collaboration to assist the business to achieve its goals and objectives in accordance with Privacy Principles and Policies
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% of the time

  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills. Ability to speak up, present and actively participate in business and legal discussions
  • CIPP/E qualification
