Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.      

 It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.
     

Position Description

The Sr Manager, Performance Management is accountable for managing all aspects of E&PS performance management including the development of E&PS goals and objectives and strategy execution plans both short range (1 year) and long range (3-5 years).

This role is responsible for the creation and tracking of well-defined metrics to accurately measure progress against established organizational goals. Metric results are updated on a quarterly basis and communicated across the department through multiple channels including townhall presentations and the maintenance of the E&PS dashboard webpage.

This role also assists in the leadership of the E&PS Strategy Council, ensuring cross functional alignment to the department’s goals and metrics, and supports the execution of various strategic priorities including the development of an E&PS value case, benchmarking, maturity assessment and the further institutionalization of E&PS strategic priorities and strategic framework within the organization.

This role is also responsible for the management of the E&PS Innovation program. In this capacity the Sr Manager, Performance Management will support and promote all Fast Track Innovation challenges across E&PS and lead key initiatives to drive innovation across the organization.

This role will be instrumental in advancing E&PS performance, by coordinating efforts across the organization to drive excellence in benchmarking, performance assessment and management and strengthening E&PS value case to Supply Chain, our Customers and Key Partners.

A suitable candidate for this role will possess a strong understanding of E&PS processes and services, exhibit a demonstrated affinity for team collaboration, and be effective at creating and communicating data and analysis in executive reports and verbal forums.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop annual E&PS Goals and Objectives through a top-down, bottom-up, and cross functional approach
  • Build and manage the E&PS Dashboard and metrics, providing quarterly updates and communicating the results to leadership and the department
  • Develop a 3-5-year strategy execution plan with long range goals and an E&PS value case that uses data from across the organization
  • Management of the E&PS Innovation program
  • Coordinate and rationalize benchmarking efforts across the organization
  • Develop an E&PS maturity assessment model, as well as ongoing performance improvement to evolve E&PS maturity
  • Assist Sr. Director, Strategy & Performance management with further institutionalizing E&PS strategic priorities and strategic framework within the organization
  • Assist Sr. Director, Strategy & Performance management with the leadership of the Strategy Council
  • Collaborate with E&PS business partners to increase efficiency, consistency, and accuracy in metric and data reporting
  • Respond nimbly to data requests but build organizational capabilities and user-friendly self-service tools in parallel

Qualifications

Required Competencies:
  • University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Knowledgeable of E&PS, possess operations experience, exhibit a demonstrated affinity for team collaboration and executive reporting
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proven ability to manage effective teams in highly dynamic environments
  • Ability to balance many points of view while still advancing standardization
  • Able to ruthlessly prioritize work but handle multiple work streams
  • Strong background in project management, analytics and metrics development
  • Good verbal, written and customer service-focused communication skills; can simplify complex topics and computations for executive decision makers
  • Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Competencies
  • Masters / MBA preferred Global experience
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Effectiveness and comfort with communicating data in a clear, succinct, and understandable way to an audience
  • Experience with Fast Track Innovation tools and challenges
