Job Description

Then we are looking for you as our new Senior Network Engineer. In this position, you will be a member of our Corporate Network & TelecommunicationServices team. In your role, you will provide operational 2nd Level Network Support and act as business specialist and partner for the global network environment incl. rollouts and major changes. The position reports to the Head of Corporate Network & Telecommunication Services and is based at the Corporate Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.

Tasks
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and continuous operation of the network infrastructure for over 70 locations of the Straumann Group worldwide
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of the Cisco network infrastructure (Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco ISR routers, Cisco Catalyst & Nexus switches, and Cisco Meraki wireless solution)
  • Configuration of Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama, physical firewalls and VMs, Global Protect)
  • Ticket handling (incidents, service and change requests)
  • Act as a project team member or take project ownership for various IT projects, such as new location setups, moves, hardware lifecycle replacements, etc.
  • Conduct on-site rollout activities in international operations, or coordinate vendors from remote, including coordination with providers
  • Maintenance of the system documentation, such as Visio network diagrams
  • Periodically take over 7x24 standby service (optional, 4-5 weeks per year)
  • International Traveling (2-3 international business trips per year)

Qualifications
  • You have an educational background in technical computer science, FH / HF degree beneficial
  • At least 5 years of experience in network administration, routing & switching
  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise or former CCNP Routing & Switching Certification
  • You are experienced with routing protocols, in particular OSPF, BGP, EIGRP
  • You have an extensive experience and efficient in troubleshooting
  • Experience with Cisco SD-WAN and with Palo Alto firewalls would be an advantage
  • Track record with network automation and programming is an advantage (Python, Ansible)
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English, very good German is an advantage
  • You are known for your independent and highly customer-oriented way of working, for your initiative and as a dedicated team player
