For our Central Function team in Neuchatel, Switzerland, we are looking for a Senior Packaging Engineer in the Printing & Finishing Team Conventional.

You specifically will
  • Translate Global Marketing (Conventional division) concepts and consumers needs into technical solutions, lead technical specification development of new pack designs and partner with other business partners to ensure smooth & flawless first product launches according PMI requirements.
  • Partner with and guide Global Marketing, other PPMD teams and business partners within the development of new products, assuring technical feasibility according to PMI requirements. Business partners are Engineering, manufacturing, procurement, product services, QA, external suppliers.
  • Demonstrate technical competence to direct development and deployment of innovative, sustainable and productivity focused packaging material for the conventional product portfolio. Direct and lead the implementation of new components from concept to product launch.
  • Lead and manage numerous projects in parallel by using project management tools (PBO). Ensure that complete documentation of relevant project information such as plans, budget and resource requirements is available and timely communicate project phase updates to all relevant business partners and management to guarantee streamlined communication flow, easier decision making and to maintain principles along the project life cycle.
  • Anticipate and apply expertise through proactive steps to minimize PMI business risks. Ensure process adherence & compliance of the projects managed to External regulations, PMI Standards, Principles and Practices, established procedures.
  • Contribute to strategies and develop plans which support business cases for projects covering product, process, equipment, system or facility development and improvement to achieve top industry best practices. Develop and improve our existing digital tools and lead digitalization projects.
  • Provide mentorship / training to relevant parties and ensure that appropriate technical expertise is utilized and transferred to meet resource requirements and departmental goals.
  • Develop accurate recommendations, alternatives, and improvements to existing processes. Provide input to departmental strategy and drive regional initiatives ensuring alignment with the strategy.
We’re looking for someone with
  • College/University Degree with focus on Packaging / Engineering fields
  • Proven experience in printing/packaging and packaging design development and strong technical competence and functional strategy development & execution
  • Validated experience in applying packaging design and/or specification practices, procedures and develop accurate recommendations, alternatives, and improvements to existing processes
  • Excellent Communication skills relationship-building and influencing aptitude
  • Proficiency in English written & spoken
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving
  • Feeling comfortable in a high dynamic environment, working on different projects in parallel
  • Strong collaboration and business partnering spirit
  • Dealing comfortably with various business partners internal & external
