Founded in 2006 by Sonova Group, the Hear the World Foundation (HTWF) supports projects around the world in low- and middle-income countries to give children access to audiological care. We are looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager to guide and steer the program portfolio of the Hear the World Foundation in line with the Foundation’s strategy. The role has the overall lead in the grant making process, with the ultimate goal to enhance quality, impact and sustainability of the projects supported. You will be reporting directly to the Director Hear the World Foundation and are responsible for the following tasks:

Your tasks

  • Lead on managing balance and scope of the overall HTW portfolio as well as its development
  • Manage funding criteria for prospective partners in line with the strategic direction of the Foundation and based on defined impact KPIs
  • In charge of portfolio oversight (incl. budget oversight and steering management)
  • Functional lead for Program Managers and responsible for successful project delivery
  • Alignment among grant-making foundations on best-practices and developments
  • Lead on annual portfolio assessment for the Foundation Board in alignment with Advisory Board and Project Managers
  • Lead on pro-active partner acquisition in specified target countries/regions
  • Responsible for open call application process and managing of vetting and pre-selection process
  • In charge of eligibility assessments of existing partners for funding continuation
  • Managing the governance and approval process (incl. Foundation Team, Advisory Board and Foundation Board) in close alignment with Director
  • Build a network and strong relationships within the wider hearing health care community and represent the foundation accordingly

Your profile

  • Degree in Economics, International Relations, Business Administration or in a related field
  • Further education in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and/or e.g. international corporations, foundation management
  • At least 10+ years of work experience in a similar role with relevant experience in program portfolio management and development cooperation
  • Strong analytical skills and budget management and consolidation experience
  • Substantial experience in stakeholder management as well as understanding the reality on the ground in low and middle income countries
  • Ability to lead strategic transition projects, the portfolio composition and development
  • You are a strong Networker within and outside the company and you are able to build strong relationships
  • Proficient in English and German both written and spoken
  • Possession of strong cross-cultural sensitivity and understanding paired with a can do mind-set, a high-level of self-management and proactivity
  • Hands-on personality and analytical thinker able to manage stakeholder expectations
