Senior Power Analyst (f/m)

What you will do
  • Develop and maintain European power pricing models, preferred focus on Germany and France
  • Support the CEMT Power Trading team with short, medium and long term (1 month - 3 years) fundamental analysis and independently derived trading strategies
  • Monitoring of market trends, regulatory changes and trading opportunities
  • Ensure data integrity from and to our Axpo database
  • Improve existing power models with better analysis on supply and demand
  • Collaborate with trading analysis in the power, coal, gas and oil markets
What you bring & who you are
  • 5+ years of experience in energy markets analysis and several years in the European power sector
  • University degree in Mathematics, Physics, Economics or Engineering with a solid quantitative academic training
  • Background in fundamental analysis in European power markets. Exposure to non-asset backed power trading
  • Strong coding skills (Phython, R or SQL coding skills)
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical skills
  • Great communication and influencing skills in dealing with traders, management and the team
  • Ability to work under pressure and volatile market conditions

About the team
This is a great role for a front Analyst, who is a great team player and equally passionate about analysis as well as coming up with own specific trading strategies. The person will sit on our successful Power Desk and is able to participate in the respective PnL. Our teams think and work in an interdisciplinary way and are closely connected at national and international level. This role in our Energy Analysis team is ideal for somebody who enjoys working in both analytical as well as entrepreneurial ways.
