Summary Of Major Responsibilities

The Senior Privacy Manager, International will be responsible for supporting the Data Protection Officer (DPO), advising the business on key data protection compliance issues, assisting the DPO in managing the Exact Sciences data protection and privacy program, and managing compliance queries across the International Business Unit.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support the DPO in managing the Exact Sciences data protection and privacy program.
  • Support the DPO with program and project management to drive the objectives of the team.
  • Carry out due diligence on new suppliers from a data protection and privacy perspective.
  • Develop materials and responses for customer due diligence inquiries.
  • Give data protection advice to Exact Sciences internal teams; promote a privacy first approach to design and develop products and services.
  • Carry out data protection impact assessments for new projects and advising, as required.
  • Support the investigation and management of data protection incidents.
  • Support the negotiation of supplier agreements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the business; including HR, IT, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial.
  • Review, update, and monitor data protection policies and processes, as required.
  • Track and report on data protection to legislative and regulatory developments outside the U.S.
  • Maintain records relating to the governance and accountability of the data protection program.
  • Communicate key privacy metrics to senior stakeholders.
  • Support the data protection program through the creation of effective training and communication; including the delivery of content to various audiences.
  • Identify potential weaknesses in the data protection and privacy program and proactively suggest improvements to address them.
  • Assist with monitoring and auditing activities conducted by the data protection and privacy program.

  • Ability to travel between Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, including overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in field related as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 7+ years professional experience in a compliance-related position at a life sciences company or firm advising in the life sciences industry.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cross-jurisdictional data protection and privacy issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory environments.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills to promote a compliance-oriented culture within the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of medical device and laboratory compliance regulations standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with computer security systems and curiosity in emerging technologies, devices, privacy, and data protection concerns.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Near-native (C2) level fluency in written and spoken English and at least one other language relevant to Exact Sciences’ business in French, Italian, and/or German.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Law degree.
  • C1 proficiency in a third language or more.
  • Strong IT and systems skills.
