In our „Product evaluation and qualification“team at Hitachi Energy Semiconductors in Lenzburg, we make sure to get to the bottom of things and deliver faultless robust semiconductor chips and power modules through a rigorous qualification process. Our products are delivered to a wide range of customers worldwide for different industrial applications as well as renewable energy, traction and eMobility. For the extension and strengthening of our testing activities, we look for a motivated and highly skilled test engineer.

Your responsibilities
  • Within the role as R&D electrical test engineer, you will be involved in development projects related to next generations of semiconductor chips and power modules. You work in close collaboration with the R&D design, process and product engineering teams to evaluate the performance of our new platforms
  • You develop specific test plans and test specification considering risk assessment, customer requirements and relevant norms
  • With your sound knowledge of electrical components and test systems, you execute and monitor various kinds of electrical tests required to ensure and examine product quality
  • As an analyst, you dive deep into the test result data and provide technical recommendations. In addition to writing and reviewing test reports, you communicate key findings to project stakeholders and write scientific papers for external publications.
  • You are engaged in general activities in the testing laboratory to ensure continuous improvement of our activities to guarantee customer satisfaction
  • Compliance to safety rules, environmental protection, following the cleanliness and order in the test laboratories is a core consideration in your every action
Your background
  • Master’s degree (or bachelor’s degree with work experience) in electrical engineering or related field with focus on semiconductor devices or power electronics
  • Work experience in power electronics, semiconductor business or similar area (ideally in the field of electrical/reliability testing)
  • Good knowledge of failure modes and critical characteristics of semiconductor devices is a plus
  • Experience in risk assessment (project leadership experience is a plus)
  • Ideally, knowledge of semiconductor relevant norms, standards and guidelines (e.g. IEC, JEDEC, AEC, AQG324)
  • Experienced in using modern software tools and capabilities (preferably Python, LabView, CAD software, and statistical data analysis tools)
  • Proven analytic skills, combined with broad technical interest and sound quality thinking (Experience in quality techniques and tools, e.g. Six Sigma process is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate results in a clear conclusive manner
  • Fluent English, German is a plus
  • Innovative R&D mindset, convincing personality, able to find the balance between different priorities and project needs
