Our client, Tenpoint Therapeutics Ltd, a company founded in 2020 is dedicated to the creation and development of novel, innovative cell-based / regenerative therapies for the treatment of ocular diseases. They will be establishing one of their laboratories in Allschwil, Switzerland and will be building-up the research team to contribute to the development of growing Tenpoint’s portfolio programs, giving the successful candidate exposure to all stages of drug discovery. Tasks
  • Support all research activities and contribute to the development of growing Tenpoint’s portfolio programs
  • Cultivation of healthy and engineered human iPS/ES cells, maintenance and differentiation to retinal pigment epithelial cells (RPE), retinal organoids and co-culture of two or three cell types.
  • Charactization and functional analysis of retinal organoids/RPE using fluorescence microscopy, image analysis, flow cytometry, FACS, MACS, fluorescence/luminance-plate reader, gene expression analysis, western blot & histology.
  • Perform in vitro pharmacology studies, development & establishment cell-based assays to evaluate mechanisms of action.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision. Plan and execute experiments, analyse, interpret, accurately document (electronic lab notebook) and communicate data in team meetings.
  • Involvement in cell culture lab management and organization.

Requirements
  • Completed training as a BTA/CTA/MTA/biology lab technician with work experience or BSc/MSc in Life sciences (biology, biotechnology, genetic engineering) or other relevant area.
  • Background in ophthalmology and extensive experience (5 years) human iPSC/ESCs and its differentiation different ocular cell types (retinal organoids, RPE and others).
  • Experience in drug discovery research/pharma/biotech & complement biology is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in assay development, co-culture of multiple cell types (example: endothelial cells), luminescence/fluorescence plate-based assays, flow cytometry, cell sorting (MACS / FACS), cryo-sectioning, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, image analysis, gene and protein analysis.
  • Knowledgeable with various genetic perturbation methods (gene editing, RNAi, viral transduction etc.) and validation assays.
  • Team-oriented, responsible and reliable personality with a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Willingness to learn a variety of new techniques and technologies and flexible to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
