Our client, Tenpoint Therapeutics Ltd, a company founded in 2020 is dedicated to the creation and development of novel, innovative cell-based / regenerative therapies for the treatment of ocular diseases. Tenpoint is committed to creating an inclusive, diverse, supportive work environment and fosters the personal / professional growth of their employees. They will be establishing one of their laboratories in Allschwil, Switzerland and will be building-up the research team to contribute to the development of growing Tenpoint’s portfolio programs, giving the successful candidate exposure to all stages of drug discovery. Working Location: Allschwil

Tasks
  • Generation, test of engineered human iPS/ES cells and differentiate them into several ocular cell-types.
  • Characterize engineered cells utilizing molecular assays such as western blotting, ELISA, qPCR and flow cytometry assays.
  • Perform in vitro pharmacology studies, development & establishment cell-based assays for mechanisms of action studies using co-culture of multiple cell types.
  • Identify, select and manage CROs by writing SOWs, negotiating budgets and timelines.
  • Monitor and review the progress of the external activities and provide regular updates.
  • Manage and support external collaborations as a subject matter expert in genome engineering.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision. Plan and execute experiments, analyse, interpret, accurately document (electronic lab notebook) and communicate data in team meetings.

Requirements
  • PhD in genetics, bioengineering, molecular biology, cell biology, complement biology or a related discipline
  • Vast experience (5 years) in genome engineering strategies, characterization and QC of engineered cells for cell based therapies is a must. Knowledge in Ophthalmology and Complement / Angiogensis is preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a industry setting is required.
  • Hands-on lab expertise in iPS/ES cell culture and methods such as molecular biology, flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, RNA/protein analysis and microscopy.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English. Additional languages are an asset.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work collaboratively within a team and accountable for project deliverables
  • Attention to detail and keen on problem solving.
  • Comfortable working in several projects and flexible to adapt to rapidly changing priorities / deadlines.
  • Team-oriented, responsible and reliable personality with a positive “can-do” attitude.
