You have proven experience in system engineering, can master networking and security challenges and are ready to pair up with our architects to design and evolve our platform.

  • Participate in the technical leadership of our platform
  • Design and implement our runtime platform built around Kubernetes and all its components on-premises and in the cloud
  • Build and maintain software and self-service APIs that empower our users to manage their resources
  • Operate and improve the reliability and availability of our platform

The team As part of our Agile team, you implement new use cases using open-source technologies. You design new architecture patterns, improve our DevOps environment and explore new technologies. You work closely with other core Big Data component teams to develop and support end-to-end services to delight our users who depend on performance, stability and resiliency. You join a team of passionate engineers, who work in an autonomous and self-organised setup. You enjoy challenges and believe in our vision of continually taking the platform to the next level. You implement, operate and enhance our data lake infrastructure to build data-driven products.

The project The data lake platform we are building integrates Swisscom products and opens the door to new, cutting-edge and data-driven products. We enable hundreds of internal engineers and analysts to gain new insights and create new possibilities for our customers.We design, implement and operate Kubernetes clusters deployed in multiple data centers, on premise and on AWS. We build a system that automates the management of our platforms and APIs, enabling self-service for the whole company. We value high-quality infrastructure as code development, pair-programming, peer reviews, CI/CD pipelines, automations and innovation to continually challenge the status quo.

Your profile

  • Proficient in systems engineering (Linux, IP networking, system security)
  • Experience in system or software architecture with development experience in Java, Go or Python
  • Experience with Kubernetes and other distributed system technologies deployed with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible
  • Hands-on experience on AWS
  • Open source contributions
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, reliable, accountable and pragmatic
  • Very good English. French or German is a plus
  • Enthusiasm for DevOps and Agile methodologies
