Your role

Do you want to build up and lead a new team bringing in-house the responsibility for a suite of applications in the HR / Finance domains ?
Are you confident in becoming an expert in not only the entire technology stack but also the user business domain and requirements?

We’re looking for software engineers to:

  • provide technology solutions to maintain and enhance an existing suite of applications within Finance (also linked to HR processes)
  • help to lead the design, planning and delivery of sustainable solutions using Linux, Oracle, Java and Tomcat and Azure cloud
  • provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing applications
  • conduct code reviews and test software as needed, along with participating in application architecture and design and other phases of SDLC
  • ensure that proper operational controls and procedures continue to be implemented when moving from test to production
  • provide L3 support to our production team to resolve issues, often involves data analysis using SQL

Your team

You’ll be working in the Finance Deferred Compensation IT team, working from the UBS office in Zurich (Opfikon)
You will support the Finance control teams in Zurich and India who operate the main day-to-day processes involving our applications
You will bring an enthusiasm to work with Scrum or similar methods with a modern approach to continuous integration and testing
You will help to define and migrate the applications to a strategic new platform

Your expertise

  • software engineer/developer focused on developing applications on Unix, Oracle (PLSQL), Java, Tomcat and Autosys
  • 5 years of full stack working experience
  • experience working with MS Azure cloud, SAP PaPM, S4/HANA is welcomed in addition
  • understanding the importance of application of standards, methods, techniques and templates as defined by our SDLC
  • produce secure and clean code that is stable, operational, consistent and well-performing
  • support the QA role with a push to more automated testing
  • familiarity with Agile Methodology, Scrum Methodology and working with multi-location teams
