We are looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer, 80-100% (or by arrangement):

At Mikafi we build the first distributed coffee roastery. We digitize today’s roasters’ infrastructure, expertise and network to provide the next-generation coffee experience to coffee-selling businesses with SaaS and an IoT roasting machine. Founded in 2019, Mikafi’s foundation is a core team working closely in partnership with the research institutions ZHAW Coffee Excellence Center, HSLU Data Analytics and a hardware engineering company.

You: You find complex challenges exciting and enjoy discovering problems as much as solving them. You thrive in fast-paced environments, pay attention to details, communicate and work well with others and think out of the box. You have an academic background with at least 4 years of experience in software development.

Your team: You will be part of the first members of Mikafi’s core team which currently works on the IoT infrastructure of the roasting machine, the web platform to manage all client processes as well as the next-generation coffee experience for the end user.

Your job

You’ll build the Mikafi user experience. You will be delivering exceptional user experiences across our web platform by designing, building, evolving, and maintaining the foundational ecosystem and delivering outstanding web development work.

Your responsibilities

• Co-own the entire software development cycle, from conceptual design, development, and testing to release
• Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve product and technical problems end to end.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with others to deliver new features and products.

Your skills

• Self-starter and Roll-up sleeves attitude to get things done.
• Intrinsic motivation to build robust applications for challenging environments or in-depth knowledge of front-end development frameworks
• Experience with our tech stack (GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Next.js, NestJS) is desired, but more importantly, you will be able to learn new technologies quickly
• Generate industrial interfaces for multiple device types
• Designing user-centric websites is your ambition

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in the development of web applications
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in JavaScript or TypeScript
• Applied knowledge or professional experience in IoT or E-Commerce systems is an advantage.
