At Lumiphase, we are looking for a Senior Semiconductor or Photonic Test Engineer to help us improve our test setups and data quality.

In this role, you will be responsible for the automatization and continuous performance validation of our test setups and test methods. You will perform careful measurement system analysis to validate our measurement procedures. You will also support the development of new electro-optic test procedures, define measurement and qualification routines for our products, and analyze experimental results to define relevant figures of merit of our products. You will be embedded in the testing team and will work closely with the product, design, and fabrication teams with versatile and exciting responsibilities.

Tasks
  • Automation of test setups for the electro-optic characterization of our photonic integrated circuits.
  • Continuous validation of accuracy and reproducibility of test setups as well as test methods using statistical techniques (like GageR&R, SPC).
  • Planning and managing projects in the testing team related to automation and continuous performance validation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of test setups and measurements. Generate data and reports tightly integrated into the company’s data infrastructure.
  • Optimize our test setups to make them operator ready.
  • Support the development, implementation and qualification of test procedures for high-volume testing of our products to validate relevant specifications in close interaction with the product development team.
  • Work with the design team to develop new characterization procedures for fast and efficient assessment of key metrics of our technology.
  • Working in a dynamic team of engineers, researchers, technicians, and operators.
  • Creation of instructional resources to share your expertise with testing team members. Design of optical components and circuits for tape out in semiconductor foundries including an adaption of designs to PDK requirements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate would look like this:
  • Strong industry experience in semiconductor testing (5+ years), preferably with experience in testing integrated photonic circuits using fiberoptic setups;
  • Experiences with testing RF components (>10 GHz) and polarization-dependent testing are a plus;
  • Strong experience in measurement system analysis and test method qualification;
  • Strong Experience in script-based automation of test setups, preferably using Python.
  • Experience with product testing at medium- to high volumes;
  • Experience with handling experimental data (e.g. analysis, fitting to models, refining simulations based on experimental data, error analysis);
  • Deep understanding of optoelectronics, photonics or semiconductor devices, in particular silicon photonic technologies;
  • Strong programming skills (e.g. python, C#, etc.), a good understanding of object-oriented programming, and proficiency in statistical data analysis are a plus;
  • Experience in interaction with customers on a technical level is a plus;
  • Skilled at working in a collaborative, fast-paced, innovative environment.

Our recruitment process consists of three stages:

  • A 1-1.5 hour phone interview with 1-2 members of the hiring team to deep dive into the core skills requirements.
