In this position, you will provide technical support for UPS Systems in the ELSP- business area in the Western part of Switzerland, delivering superior, professional service, remotely or on-site. Reporting to the Head of field service West-South CH, your hands-on experience and knowledge of customer needs will help you not only to build strong customer relationships, but also to actively identify and develop new business opportunities.

Your responsibilities

  • Adherence to the requirements of ABB’s management system
  • Provide technical customer support, by phone or email
  • Work preparation before going on customer site
  • Independent disassembly, installation, commissioning and site acceptance documents
  • Customer instructions & training
  • Preventive maintenance work incl. component replacement
  • Analysis of more complex malfunctions, troubleshooting work on all systems incl. preparation of detailed reports
  • Ensuring that the administrative work such as reports, protocols and documentation are carried out with high quality
  • Maintenance of tools, measuring instruments, company vehicles
  • Independent training in USV and battery topics
  • On-call service (24 / 365)
  • Responsible for generating sales opportunities e.g. - maintenance contracts, battery and component replacement

Your background

  • A completed apprenticeship as an electrician
  • Experience in power electronics or in the field of uninterrupted power supply
  • Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing of UPS Systems
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, NewSet and Daisy
  • Ability to travel to domestic markets, focused on Western-CH
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills in French and English
